Itinerario

We booked this tour well in advance and received a confirmation email. We waited at the time and place but no one showed up or bother to contact us. I tried to contact Visit Bishkek through Trip Advisor, their phone number and their email. No one contacted me. PLEASE DO NOT USE VISIT BISHKEK!!!!! They are a scam!
My wife and I were the only clients for our tour. Our tour guide, Aijamal, was amazing! She took us first to Burana Tower, where we spend our time looking at the oldest minaret in Asia, and its surroundings. Aijamal was super to talk to, and filled us in on a lot of the history of the area, of which we were only partially aware. We saw the carved headstones of fallen enemies and ancestors, interestingly almost all with a cup in their hands to sustain them in the afterlife!! After the Tower, we went to the Issyk-Ata Gorge, where we drove through the beautiful foothills of the Tien-Shan mountains. The area was full of fields and pastures, with yurts used by horse-herds and farmers. While we drove, we continued to talk with Aijamal about the history of the area and surroundings, from ancient to current. From the end of the road up the gorge, at the old Soviet sanitorium, we made our way on foot up to the waterfall, and then back down to the hot mineral pools. Those we skipped, as the late June sun was a bit too fierce, and we were pretty tired ;). All in all, a really super day, with one of the best guides we have ever enjoyed time with!!! It was much better than we had expected, and we highly recommend the tour!
Thank you for booking our tour and for your kind review!
We had a wonderful day trip with Aibek to visit the Burana tower and the Sanatorium. Aibek was very knowledgeable, willing to answer all our funny questions, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was also very flexible with us allowing us to modify the itinerary to suit our needs. Wonderful wonderful day touring the mountains around Bishkek!
