Excursión de un día a Gallipoli por el interior y alrededores en bicicleta
Descripción
Gallipoli y su interior aún conservan vestigios de la riqueza que generó durante siglos el comercio de aceite para lámparas. La primera parada es en Alezio para una degustación en una granja de queso, luego nos dirigimos a Tuglie para visitar el increíble Museo de la Radio (¡todos los elementos, incluidos los telégrafos, todavía funcionan!) o el Museo de la Vida Rural. De regreso a la costa, en la Reserva Natural de Porto Selvaggio tendremos un almuerzo tipo picnic (no incluido) a la sombra del pinar y, para quienes lo deseen, un refrescante baño en las frescas aguas del manantial. De regreso a Gallipoli paramos en Santa Caterina para degustar uno de los mejores helados de la región (están especializados en “pistachos salados”, “almendras e higos” y “crema de chocolate”). Llegamos a Gallipoli al atardecer.

Comenzamos aquí y terminamos aquí. Gallipoli es un pueblo de pescadores, que tuvo su gloria gracias a la exportación de aceite de oliva que en la época medieval no se vendía con fines alimentarios sino por otra razón y te dejamos descubrir cuál!
Pararemos en este pequeño pueblo para visitar el molino de aceite subterráneo del siglo XVII.
Por caminos secundarios, entre olivos y construcciones locales de piedra seca (trulli y pajare), llegaremos a Galatone con su imponente castillo normando, la Iglesia del Crucifijo, obra maestra del barroco leccese, y el palacio noble.
Porto Selvaggio, es un parque natural bien conservado con agua clara donde es imposible no saltar. Hay fuentes de agua de manantial que se mezclan con el agua de mar. Paramos para nadar y almorzar.

Excellent six days' cycling from Lecce with a circular inland and along coast to Gallipoli. GPS navigation very good and lots of opportunities to experience the culture of Puglia as well as take a rest over lunch or enjoy a swim. We are both over seventy ,and though challenging at times , with reasonable level of fitness, we managed the average of 40 miles approx cycling per day . Accommodation throughout was excellent, attentive hosts on hand, plus an excellent briefing before we set out. Salento Bici Tours provided excellent bikes, advice and support throughout our trip.

Unforgettable day with a group of friends for my bachelor party. We wanted to do some activities rather than the usual relaxation by the sea and couldn't have a better idea. The tour is very easy, all flat and most of the time spread over almost deserted roads. The bikes were brand new and kept very well, comfortable even the bags available to put inside any object. The guide Giulia is fantastic, very nice, connoisseur of the place and attentive manager of the group. The stop at the DonnAnna estate will remain in my heart forever, I expected something "commercial" for the average tourist instead I had to change my mind and we all enjoyed an incredible Processing from morning until evening
