Getting to see Etna up close was really incredible. Our tour guide was very informative. We got to see some volcanic craters and experience the terrain, and the walk/hike was not too challenging, so most people should be able to do it. If you're looking to go to the top of the volcano, just be aware that this tour does not do that. I would recommend packing snacks on this tour because the wine experience comes at the end and doesn't provide very much food. The wine was good, but I do wish there had been more food and maybe some information about wine production in the region during that time.
Very fun experience. Our guide was amazing and really took us to some great views and interesting spots. Very knowledgeable and I loved his explanations about how the rocks and craters form. The lava tunnel was super cool too. Definitely worth a trip!
I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide Roberto was excellent and was not just extremely kind and energetic, but also very knowledgeable and provided us with so much information about Mt. Etna not only while we were hiking, but also on the ride there and back. Transportation was convenient as we were picked up and dropped off close to our hotel and they were able to accommodate food allergies for the provided lunch with wine tasting.
Roberto, our hiking guide and driver, was very knowledgeable and hilarious. We learnt a lot of facts about Mount Etna enroute and during our excursion. They also provided hiking boots and jackets for us. We were able to visit one the lava tunnels of which were provided helmets and scaled an old crater. A once in my lifetime opportunity and don’t worry you won’t be next to lava, so it was very safe. The lunch too was really nice and the wine a wonderful way to recoup after the hike.
Our tour guide was Giovanni and he was fantastic. We could tell he enjoys being a tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable not only about Etna but also the history of Sicily. We learned so much in just a short time accompanying him on the tour. The food was great and they even gave my son extra pasta on request. Can’t beat this tour which we suggest you should do before you take a dip in the sea!
Due to a health condition we were unable to do the hiking part of the trip. However the team provided an alternative of not one but two winery tours that we really enjoyed as well as a visit to a mountain top village and castle. Our diver and guide Diego was fantastic and the office team were very efficient and helpful. We highly recommend booking with this tour company and we have done a lot of activities around the world.
Guide was great, friendly and organized well! He was patient and mad everyone feel welcome. Hike was not hard and the snacks was a nice touch. Had a great day!
A must-do if you’re visiting Sicily. We had an amazing experience exploring Mount Etna! Hiking through the craters and visiting the lava caves were definite highlights, and we really appreciated that hiking boots were provided—it made the experience much more convenient. My only minor critique is that the tour was conducted in both English and French. While I completely understand the need to accommodate both groups, having every explanation repeated in two languages sometimes slowed the pace and meant we had a little less time to explore. That said, our guide did a fantastic job seamlessly switching between both languages, which couldn’t have been easy. Overall, it was a memorable experience, and I’d definitely recommend this tour.
Very well organised and our guide was both friendly and very knowledgeable with excellent English. The walking was relatively challenging but we felt very safe - he made sure that we all had the right equipment before we left, and it was a small enough group for him to provide assistance if we needed it. (We saw other groups that seemed too big, and were climbing in poor footwear with small children which did not seem like a good idea). Hotel pick ups and drop offs worked really well and communication was good. In short myself and my 16 year old daughter had a fantastic and memorable trip! Would honestly not recommend for toddlers/younger children - some of the paths are narrow and steep with slopes on either side. And the weather can change very quickly.
Etna people are our kind of people!
