Great trip despite weather. Guide adapted our trip so that we could get the best experience.
I don't normally give 5 stars but this was a sensational day out with Marcel the driver. A good overview of the area and lots of local information on culture and society too. Thankyou
Luis was an excellent tour guide. A wealth of knowledge for this beautiful island. Looking forward to another tour with him tomorrow . I highly recommend this company and booking the private tours!
Fantastic guide . Very informative . Weather in the morning was terrible. A printed map for the hike would have been very good to have .
We had an amazing time on this tour, even with the rainy weather. The guide was friendly and personable! Lunch was at a local buffet-style restaurant, and the food was delicious. A few adjustments to the itinerary to stay flexible with the weather but the guide handled it perfectly. The Serra Devassa hike was spectacular, even with the high winds and clouds rolling in. It was such a fun and memorable experience. Would totally recommend!
Telmo (our guide) saved the day and was great! My wife and I had one of the best days of our Portugal trip on this Tour and it wasn’t because of the great views! It was our Tour guide Telmo. We were cursed with a foggy day and instead of bringing us to the top of the Calderas to see a blanket of Fog. No one likes that… Telmo pivoted into an amazing costal tour in the Northwest of the island where the views were beautiful and the surf was an amazing blue. We had so much fun and learned a tremendous amount from our guide. He treated us like good friends and we will always remember this experience. Thank you Telmo! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone!
Great experience ! Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Hike was challenging! Wear layers and rain gear and bring a change of socks/shoes
We had an amazing time! Our guide Margarita was incredible! They even customized the tour just for us. We hiked and toured the gorgeous Sete Cidades, ate incredible lunch at Lagoa Azul, and swam at the other worldly thermal pools along the coast. I definitely recommend!
It was a lovely day with a nice hike in the morning, a tasty lunch and a nice trip afterwards for getting to know this part of the island.
In spite of the crazy weather (insane winds, fallen trees, and impromptu facial with piercing rain) we had an amazing time. The ride was very comfortable 4WD and Telmo (guide), Margarite (guide in training), and the photographer (I am sorry but I cannot remember his name) all were very informative and worked well together and with others, telling others drivers that the roads were blocked … even offered to help another group with a flat tire! Good energy!! The water tunnel that regulates the Blue (and Green) Lake water level as well as provide a shortcut for the farmers, the difference between pumice and basalt rocks, the story of the princess and shepherd/farmer, the plant hospital and more (Roman-style aquaduct, run-away cow, beautiful church) made the trip even more enjoyable! We did not hike as it was too wet but did get to see Mosteiros, giant rock formations in the water where the largest looks like a monastery, in the wild ocean waves. Lunch was a buffet with many choices of local seafood and meat dishes. We would wholeheartedly recommend this trip by T4W!!
