Zhinvali, también Jinvali, es un reservorio de agua artificial ubicado en el río Aragvi en Georgia. El edificio de la presa hidroeléctrica formó el embalse de Zhinvali. La presa ha sido construida en 1986. Estarás encantado con el agua perfectamente color azul rodeado de montañas.
La fortaleza de Ananuri es un complejo de castillos del siglo XVI en el río Aragvi. La fortaleza se encuentra junto a la famosa carretera militar de Georgia, con vistas a un gran lago Jinvali. Sus altos muros de piedra con torreta protegen dos iglesias, una torre de vigilancia y un embalse. La fachada principal de la iglesia está bellamente tallada con motivos animales, florales y de estilo celta.

La siguiente parada en el camino es Gudauri, una estación de esquí notable en Georgia. El complejo se encuentra a una altitud de 7217 pies (2200 metros) sobre el nivel del mar. La primera estación de elevación inferior está a 6528 pies (1.990 metros) sobre el nivel del mar y la última, o superior, la estación está a 3.306 metros llamada cumbre de Sadzele. El complejo ofrece oportunidades de esquí de alta calidad. La temporada de esquí dura de diciembre a abril.

Es el tercer pico más alto de Georgia (después del Monte Shkhara y Janga) y la séptima cumbre más alta de las montañas del Cáucaso. Kazbek es también la segunda cumbre volcánica más alta en el Cáucaso, después del Monte Elbrus. La cumbre se encuentra directamente al oeste de la ciudad de Stepantsminda y es la característica geográfica más prominente del área. El monte Kazbek es el pico más alto del este de Georgia.

This tour was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything was flawlessly organized and thoughtfully executed. My guide, Gio, was outstanding – incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about his country. He shared not only historical facts, but also cultural context and personal insights that gave real depth to the experience. It was a true pleasure to spend the day in his company. Equally impressive was driver, Pancho. He drove with great care and confidence, even on challenging mountain roads, and was always courteous, and attentive. The guide was excellent and all the info she gave about this and that made it a good tour. Hence, even tough the driving distance was significant we still had fun. The mountains were of course also very interesting to see.

I had an amazing day with Khatuna from friendly.ge exploring the Kazbegi area. What a breathtaking tour! We went in March when the mountains are still snowy and the view was everything. Out guide, Aleksi, was also great, told us many things about the mountains, Georgian culture and more. He was very helpful and flexible with accommodating all our requests. We can only recommend this tour if you love the mountains and want a full day of eyecandy :)

We've had a wonderful day with Giorgi. It was both full of natural wonders and historical adventure. Through the entire trip we discussed architecture, Georgia's blockbuster history and unique culture and language. From ancient time through Golden era to the sorrow times of strife, Russian Imperial rule, being a part of USSR and back to independence, not historical stone was left unturned. It was accompanied by interesting anecdotes and spectacular views from the car windows. Giorgi was also accommodating when we wanted to take pictures outside of the standard itinerary. I think out of everything I've taken as a tour in Georgia, that was the most interesting one. I'd like to mention that he speaks both English and exceptionally fluent Russian so we were switching back-and-forth as required to understand each other. Keep it awesome, folks!
