Great guide beautiful scenery amazing history our guide was extremely informative and helpful we learned a lot and saw a lot in our time there
Great tour to see Lake Myvatn! Our tour guide, Lilja (sp?), was fantastic and showed us all of the highlights in the Lake Myvatn area. She provided interesting information both at the stops and in the car rides in between. She was extremely patient with our tour group (~7 people), even when some of the guests weren't as cooperative. The tour started at 9 am in the morning and ended at around 4:30 pm for us as we decided to leave the tour at the Forest Lagoon stop. For those that aren't interested in the Forest Lagoon, she dropped them off at their pick-up locations. For those that are visiting the Forest Lagoon, they offer a free shuttle back to Akureyri center. They market this as a pick-up service, but they're happy to drop off guests if they're already at the Forest Lagoon as well.
Thank you for you so much for this. we are happy that we could make your day a good one. 😊
The tour was absolutely amazing. Our driver and guide, Lilja, was incredibly attentive and accommodating. When we realized there had been a miscommunication about the pick-up time, she went all the way to the airport to pick up my friend on the day she landed so we could still join the tour together. We were truly grateful for her extra effort. It was a beautiful day, and the sights were breathtaking: a great variety of locations and very well paced. Along the way, Lilja shared many interesting stories and insights, and constantly made sure everyone was comfortable. Highly recommended! A wonderful experience from start to finish.
Thank you for your kind words. They warm our hearts. Team Traveling Viking
Fantastic experience and very knowledgeable and humorous guide. Inga went above and beyond with the 8 ‘Travelling Geriatrics’ on both trips we did with him. He even rang us to tell us that there was Aura activity down on the harbour where we were staying! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Great and friendly tourguide with alot of knowledge about the area. Enough time at every stop to enjoy the views and take some photographs.
Wonderful experience, we went to all the must see places and spent a good amount of time at each stop. Tour guide is friendly and knowledgeable, had a great time listening to some of the fun facts while enjoying the amazing scenery.
Our tour guide/driver was incredibly professional, especially at the volcanic rock area. He meticulously explained what each rock resembled, and his service was exceptionally attentive.
I can definitely recommend this tour company - the guide was knowledgeable and friendly, an excellent driver, and gave us plenty of information to keep us awake on the long drive. There were only three of us (plus the guide) on this tour but it never felt awkward. I would recommend this tour especially if you want to experience more of the Icelandic highlands. This was genuinely one of the best tours I've ever been on. We saw some amazing scenery and our guide, Lilja, kept us entertained with stories about growing up in Iceland and what it's like living there, as well as about trolls and other Icelandic myths. She was happy to answer all of our questions. We left the tour with a new-found appreciation of the island and its beauty.
Thank you for your kind words. 😊
Excellent tour. Brilliant places visited. Fantastic guide who was very knowledgeable, helpful and polite. He could not do enough for you.
We were given the option when booking of 9am or 10am, so chose the 10am as we were on a late night Northern Lights tour the night before. At 9am on the day of the trip we had a call to ask where we were, to be told there was no 10am option! Luckily we were ready and our guide actually came to our apartment to pick us up! During the trip we heard a mention of thermal baths, but this wasnt on the trip we had booked, and we hadnt brought swimming gear! We purposely chose this trip for that reason as we had a trip booked for the Forest Lagoon the following day, so didn't want to do 2 'spa' trips. Our guide from 'The Travelling Viking' was very understanding and took photos of our booking and itinerary to feed back to Viator, as this was not the fault of her company. Due to this, we did find ourselves with 2 hours to fill at the Thermal Baths, so ended up buying coffee and a sandwich and spending the time in the cafe, along with a short walk around the area outside. Aside from this, we dont want to take anything away from 'The Travelling Viking' as the day was amazing, our guide was fantastic, giving us lots of information and stories along the way. We went to the most amazing places and saw the most beautiful scenery we could ever imagine. A full day out and a magical experience. 10/10 for the travelling viking, the guide and the trip, 5/10 for viator. Viator need to make sure the time and the itinerary is updated, as we could easily have missed the trip if it wasnt for the guide, and we would have been extremely disappointed to have missed an amazing day out.
Thank you for those kind words.
