It was a good workout kayaking over chopping lake and beaver dams. Water was low. It would be good to explain how heavy kayaks and canoes are to portage. We are 72 and a lady helped us on first short portage and guy Wess from company helped us on longer portage. Probably would have been nicer earlier in season with higher waters.
We booked two canoes for our family of four and were very lucky with the weather. It was hot and sunny, with very little wind. It was great that we were able to use our own canoe paddles. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The paddle to the far end of the lake was beautiful, and we enjoyed the river section too. The water level was really low, so the river was tight in some places and we had to drag the canoes over a few old beaver lodges. The trolley system for the portage worked well, and a helpful member of staff swapped our trolley for one with bigger wheels, which didn’t sink into the sand/gravel. The group in front of us saw a black bear foraging at the side of the river, which was really exciting! All in all, we had a lovely afternoon on the water!
Very easy to book. The activity ran on schedule and was very smooth. The trip was exactly as described and was awesome. The staff was great!
We had such an amazing time on this trip. Stunning scenery and we saw two bears! Our guides, Jack and Dahlia, were fantastic - they looked after us all really well, gave us lots of information about the wildlife and local area and made sure our children (11 and 16) had a great time. An experience I'll always remember!
It was a great experience, definitely participate even in bad weather! Bringing your own water shoes is an advantage.
Top top top!! We were a family with children aged 8 and 11 with our guide Rachel, who was super kind and enthusiastic. It is one of the activities from our 17-day road trip that my children preferred. Late afternoon outing at 7 p.m. at sunset where we were able to see 3 beavers and some birds. Calm and peaceful moment. We were alone on the river and lake. I recommend +++
Fantastic morning on the river with great support from our guides, Jack and Jess. Stunning scenery, nothing too arduous from a paddling perspective and informative commentary about Whistler and surrounding area. Would highly recommend.
It was a beautiful day, our instructors jack and ollie were very helpful and patient. It went very smoothly. Rachel was there at pickup and made sure everyone got out of boat safely. The team was amazing. I even got an employee’s number, bonus!
Sick ride beautiful scenery and jacks really cool!
