Excursión al Viaducto Glenfinnan, Glencoe y el Lago Shiel desde Glasgow

Una excursión de un día desde Glasgow que nos llevará a lugares de rodaje de películas como Skyfall, Highlander y Harry Potter. Viajaremos a Glencoe y al "Camino a las Islas", desde Fort William hasta Glenfinnan. Observaremos el tren de vapor jacobita mientras cruza el viaducto de Glenfinnan (abril-octubre), un icono escocés famoso por su ingeniería victoriana clásica. También se lo conoce como el "puente de Harry Potter" que lleva al niño mago a Hogwarts.

Itinerario
Luss está en las orillas del Lago Lomond. No solo nos detendremos aquí para refrescarnos por la mañana, sino para disfrutar de unas maravillosas vistas del lago Lomond. Ben Lomond, el Munro más meridional de Escocia, (montañas de más de 3000 pies de altura) también se puede ver desde aquí.
Glencoe fue el escenario de uno de los períodos más infames de la historia escocesa, la masacre de Glencoe que tuvo lugar en 1692. El hermoso paisaje es una visita obligada para los visitantes. Nos detendremos en el Centro de visitantes de Glencoe para tener tiempo de aprender más sobre la historia del valle. El centro también alberga la casa de turba donde podrá ver cómo debía ser la vida de la comunidad de 500 a 600 personas que vivía aquí en Glencoe en el siglo XVII. Recorreremos el valle dos veces (por la mañana y por la tarde) y nos detendremos para tomar fotografías y contemplar el paisaje mientras estamos allí.
A la sombra de Ben Nevis se encuentra la ciudad de vacaciones de Fort William. Viajamos por la ciudad por la mañana para unirnos al romántico 'Camino a las Islas'.
Tenemos mucho tiempo para visitar Glenfinnan ya que las vistas aquí son simplemente espectaculares. Verás los 21 arcos del majestuoso viaducto de Glenfinnan curvarse a través del valle en una escena inmortalizada como la ruta al Hogwarts de Harry Potter (del 2 de abril al octubre nuestro objetivo es llegar al viaducto a tiempo para ver el tren de vapor jacobita cruzando). El monumento Glenfinnan se encuentra a la cabeza del lago Shiel y fue erigido en 1815 para honrar a los jacobitas que lucharon y murieron en la causa de Bonnie Prince Charlie. También habrá tiempo para pagar la entrada para visitar el monumento si lo desea. (Tenga en cuenta: El tren de vapor jacobita no funcionará entre el 1 y el 5 de septiembre de 2025.)
Después de viajar de regreso a través de Glencoe & Rannoch moor, nuestra última parada de la noche será dentro del Parque Nacional Loch Lomond and Trossachs, donde podrá disfrutar de un refresco temprano por la noche antes de nuestro regreso a Glasgow.

Although we could not go to Glenfinnan because there was a serious accident 9 miles from the location, Alan, our guide, made the day wonderful anyway. He told us many things and took us to wonderful places. I spent a day that I will never forget. The places visited are wonderful, but Alan's company made them memorable. Thanks Alan!
