Our tour guide was Steve, a local who has lived in the Greenwich Village neighborhood for 20 years, so he was very knowledgeable about the area. He shared some great anecdotes with us about some of the singer/songwriters like Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Ray Charles, who played at the various locations. He also showed us the exact spot where the Freewheelin Bob Dylan record cover photo was taken, which was very cool! And the history of the Stonewall Riot and seeing the Stonewall Inn and the park were cool too. Lots of great history!
The tour was the best way to learn the incredible history of the Village and the people that populated it right from the start. Great stories and facts that i had no idea about. So well done by our incredibly knowlegable guide Angela and with great humour. So glad i did this tour.

Angela was very knowledgeable about the history of Greenwich Village and a fun person to spend time with. We learned of many great places to come back to and try some great food and drinks, which was a bonus.

Steve is THE man! Incredible tour guide (felt like we were visiting a friend showing us his neighborhood), super knowledgeable and share so many interesting facts about the neighborhood over the decades. Highly recommend this tour if you like music history and culture!!

The alternative Greenwich Village walking tour was a fun and an informative introduction to a culturally rich and dynamic part of New York.
