Lucie was a wonderful guide for our tour. Despite the fact that we had a big group, she managed it well and was very informative about Cambridge, its history at its colleges.
Wonderful start middle and end Roderick was was informed and shared the information easily and personably. Worth every penny
John was absolutely wonderful - so knowledgeable and patient with the large group. It would be very helpful if you used headsets - it was hard to hear at times
Good knowledgeable guide made the tour very interesting. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Our guide, Francesco, was absolutely fantastic! His passion for Cambridge and its history really came through in every part of the tour. He explained everything with so much enthusiasm, knowledge, and humor that the time flew by. This was my first visit to Cambridge, and thanks to Francesco, it became such a memorable experience. I learned so much and enjoyed every minute of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cambridge for the first time. Thank you for making our visit so special!
We were looking forward to an alumni tour that not only offers good background knowledge and entertaining stories about the places but also brings us to and into the mentioned locations. Since the open house day for all future students was taking place during our tour, we were not allowed to enter a single location or even the courtyard. We only start on the road. And all of this at full price and without any prior announcement on the website. We are disappointed. Our guide still made every effort to keep us entertained.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. Unfortunately, the University's Open Day is organised entirely by the University of Cambridge and is outside of our control. Access arrangements can change on the day, and we are required to follow the colleges' instructions. We would also like to clarify that our Cambridge University Walking Tour is not advertised as an inside-college tour. Rather, it is an alumni-led experience focusing on Cambridge's history, traditions, architecture, and student life, with our guides sharing personal insights and stories that visitors would not normally hear on a self-guided visit. That said, we completely understand your disappointment at not being able to access some of the locations during Open Day, and we're grateful for your kind comments about your guide, who did her very best under the circumstances. We genuinely value your feedback. If you would be willing to share more details, we'd be very grateful if you could email us at info@alumni.tours. We are always looking for ways to improve our tours and the information we provide to future guests. Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards, Monich Alumni Tours
Robin was an exceptional guide with great knowledge of Cambridge. Would recommend going on this tour and if you have Robin Franklin you'll have lucked out as he was one so engaging, friendly and informative.
We were a family of six, and we had an absolutely fantastic experience with Mark. He was incredibly engaging, knowledgeable, and had a wonderful sense of humor, always with a twinkle in his eye. Even my 9-year-old nephew, Frej, thought Mark was great fun. I can warmly recommend taking a tour with Mark. He has a real talent for telling fascinating stories while also debunking some of the common myths along the way. If we had to complain about anything, it would be the heat. It was extremely hot and at times almost unbearable to stand in the sun. However, Mark made a genuine effort to keep us in the shade whenever possible.
Robin was the best tour guide I’ve had. Very knowledgeable and great stories.
Our tour guide Isabelle was very knowledgeable and easygoing, she was able to answer all our questions. We were disappointed that the King’s Chapel was closed to the visitors; however to rectify this, the tour operator upgraded us to a guided punting tour which we really enjoyed!
Thank you very much for your kind words about Isobelle. We're delighted to hear that you found her knowledgeable, approachable, and able to answer all of your questions. I'll be sure to pass your lovely feedback on to her. We're sorry again that King's College Chapel was unexpectedly closed. Unfortunately, this was completely outside of our control. To ensure your visit was still enjoyable, we were pleased to upgrade your booking to a chauffeured punting tour at no additional cost, and we're so glad to hear that you really enjoyed it. With that in mind, I wondered whether you might consider updating your review to five stars. It would mean a great deal to our small business, especially since we did everything we could to resolve the situation and provide an alternative experience. Thank you again for your understanding and support—we really appreciate it. Kind regards, Monich Alumni Tours
