Fun, knowledgeable tour guide (Pancho). Smaller group sizes with comfortable kayaks. Meet up point is more secluded than the other tour groups. Definitely go in the early morning to be the crowds. It gets crazy with all the other kayak and boat tours. We went at 8:30am, going later than that will definitely be crowded. Tour was roughly 2 hours, if they had longer tours we would have went with that to see even more.
Wow! This was a highlight on our 10 day trip in Portugal and a must do with the BrotherRootz! If you are an early morning adventurer this is the trip to book. We loved meeting early. Wear something sporty and warm. It was cool because the sun was just coming up. We met Miguel and Pancho at the van. We got our dry bag and helmets. We wondered about the helmets and were told we would be going through tight caves (and we did! Take and wear the helmet). Next we hiked down to the beach. Lots of steps and a man made tunnel. Tricky and worth it. They are the only adventure providers on the beach. The group starts big and then divides! Great small group personalization and I highly recommend booking with them. It was now 6:45 AM and the kayaks were being brought down after us. We did a “how to” get in the kayak and how to paddle with Pancho before dividing into two smaller groups. The kayaks are so comfortable and in great condition! Off we went on our adventure wi the Miguel! He was knowledgeable, passionate and truly loves the early morning adventures! The best part of all the cave visits was the water was flat, and there was NO one else out there! As we retuned the big groups were setting out and by 9 the motor boats begin. We were thrilled and amazed by all the caves and beaches we saw. His storytelling was also a highlight! He loves his country and is proud which was evident! Pictures: Wow! Bring your phone and also download's all the pictures the Brothers take! They know what they are doing! I do recommend you brining your own clear phone dry bag. I forgot mine and wish I had it. Just a bit riskier with all the water. We took lots of our own and so glad we did! We are in our 50s and easily did this tour. It wasn’t on the bucket list but it should have been. We give it a 12/10! We are not your tour type of people but this is a MUST DO it is the only way to see these magical spots that are water only access. Go meet these guys, you won’t be disappointed!
Excellent. The guides and the equipment are top-notch. The groups with approx. 6 kayaks are small, and the program and the orientation are also great. I would book again. Great historical and biological/geological details are also shared.
The experience of kayaking with family was fantastic! We had a great time all morning with the guide, who was very attentive and possessed extensive knowledge of the local geology and history. Highly recommended—the whole experience was delightful and extremely professional, featuring great conversations and plenty of tips. We loved it!
It was an excellent experience! It was very well organized and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable.
Brilliant tour of the caves, our kayaks were inflatable but very sturdy and seemed the best of all the kayaks we saw whilst doing the tour. We are a family of 3 with a 7 year old and they were accommodating to let all 3 of us go in one kayak together. Our guide was brilliant and made everyone feel comfortable. Very knowledgeable and gave us good places to visit after the tour had finished. 10/10 would recommend!
Absolutely exceptional experience. Our guide David was brilliant, despite only being 18yrs old. Great attention to health and safety, new the caves inside out and the knowledge of the caves, tides and local area. He was super vigilant of every group member ensuring our safety and enjoyment at these spectacular feats of nature. I definite, do not miss experience. Will remember it forever!
This was worth doing for sure. Guides were nice and paddling the kayaks was easy. It was very organized even though it was a big group.
We were welcomed very warmly at the parking lot and were perfectly equipped for the tour. The organization was excellent overall. Before the start, there was a short, understandable introduction. Since we were a larger group (24 people in total), we were divided into two smaller groups of 12 participants each. That was a very pleasant group size. The caves were beautiful and absolutely worth seeing. However, there were also many other kayak groups and boats out, which made it a bit crowded in places. That did not, however, detract from the overall very positive impression. The entire team was very friendly, helpful, and supportive. As a group of four girls, we had a lot of fun and can definitely recommend the tour!
It would have been good to be informed about wearing swim attire (at least for the bottoms) and aqua socks. Being informed in advance that all shoes/flip-flops would be removed & stored in a dry bag would’ve been helpful to know in advance. Other than that, the kayaking experience was great. Bruno was attentive to all boats and didn’t make us feel badly about always being the last to catch up. Since we were on an earlier tour, we didn’t have to wait as long to get into each cave so Bruno was able to take us more places. We enjoyed it very much.
Thank you so much for your kind review and for highlighting Bruno’s attentive guiding! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the early morning tour and had the chance to visit more caves. We’d just like to clarify one small point regarding footwear for future guests. Water shoes aren’t necessary on our tour. Guests can wear whatever footwear they find comfortable (sneakers, sandals, flip-flops, etc.) to walk down to Carvalho Beach. Once we reach the sand, everyone leaves their shoes safely in our shoe bags before getting into the kayaks. After the tour, we return to the same beach where you’ll have your shoes waiting for you. The tour is designed to be enjoyed barefoot while you’re on the beach and in the kayaks, making it a more natural and comfortable experience. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back to the Algarve one day! 🌊😊
