El recorrido incluye una visita al volcán activo más grande de Europa: Etna o Mongibello. Subiendo hacia la cumbre atraviesas varios paisajes. Desde los puntos más altos, puede disfrutar de una vista espectacular que se extiende hasta la isla de Malta. Etna se convirtió en patrimonio de la Unesco en 2013. Puede subir por la carretera que conduce a Rifugio Sapienza (1.923 metros). El refugio alberga un bar bien abastecido y una zona comercial. A disposición de los huéspedes también hay una gran terraza panorámica, donde es posible relajarse disfrutando de una espléndida vista sobre gran parte del este de Sicilia. Desde el Refugio puede tomar, por una tarifa, el teleférico para alcanzar una altitud de 2500 metros. Desde allí puede visitar a pie o continuar con vehículos todo terreno, para llegar al área del cráter, ubicada a 2920 m.
Taormina es uno de los centros turísticos más famosos de la isla. Una vez que llegue, el conductor lo acompañará a Porta Messina, el punto de acceso a la zona peatonal de la ciudad. Desde aquí se puede visitar el centro histórico de Taormina y el espléndido teatro grecorromano (entrada con pago adicional). Puedes pasear por sus calles medievales, admirar sus impresionantes vistas y probar su excelente gastronomía. No se pierda la sugerente terraza panorámica con vistas al mar, un lugar de encuentro encantador, un famoso centro de la vida social de Taormina. Todo esto es Piazza IX Aprile, la plaza más famosa de Taormina que se abre a la calle principal de la ciudad (Corso Umberto), con sus numerosos cafés al aire libre, edificios religiosos y edificios históricos que lo enmarcan. Para los entusiastas de las compras, Taormina es el lugar ideal para comprar ropa, recuerdos y obras de arte.
A los pies de Taormina, Isola Bella es una pequeña joya natural, conectada a la costa por una estrecha franja de arena. If you have an extra free day in Palermo, you need to do this with Fabrizio! He picked up my family at 8:00 am and drove us to Mt. Etna. It was a long drive(2.5 hours) but we enjoyed every minute of it because Fabrizio taught us a lot about history, current events, architecture, nature and so much more while he drove us to the base of Mt. Etna. It started to rain when we reached the base so we stayed at the souvenir shop/cafe until the rain stopped. We took a lot of photos and videos of the stunning views and the constant rain plus the random lighting! After, Fabrizio drove us to Taormina where we spent 2.5 hours eating a delicious relaxing lunch and shopping at the vibrant shopping scene Taormina is famous for. Fabrizio picked us up where he dropped us off and everyone fell asleep with Fabrizio’s safe and comfortable driving. We all would love to do this again soon! We highly recommend Fabrizio, we voted him as the best guide in Palermo! Thank you Fabrizio!

We had a great time visiting Mt Etna and Taormina with this tour. The only thing is that we would have preferred more time in Taormina and less in Mt Etna, but it was so because of the decisions we made on the options offered at the site. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun and thought this was worth our time and money, specially being it a private tour for our group. Our driver, Marcello, was wonderful and did everything he could to accommodate our requests.
Our driver was cordial and punctual but the published itinerary seems to be impossible as we went up the Mt Etna with cable car plus 4x4 bus. The bus in the mountain was unpredictable. We ended up spending all our time at Mt Etna.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback. Unfortunately the journey from Palermo to Etna is about 3 hours, to add the journey to Taormina and the return. This is why the time to spend on Etna and in Taormina is about 2 hours for each stop. If the customer wishes to spend more time at one of the two stops, obviously there is no time left for the other stop. Consider that the tour planned in this way has a duration of about 12 hours including the road journey. We are happy that your experience on Etna was fantastic and thank you for the 5 stars.
Claudio was my guide and he was great. I found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful as I navigated around Mt Etna and Taormina. He made sure I got to see and enjoy the coast and stopped for photo ops. I really enjoyed this tour. I had enough time to enjoy each stop.

Plan for a long day but with Claudio it was an extraordinary experience. He was punctual, professional and an excellent driver and very knowledgeable of the entire island of Sicily. We were very pleased with the tour and would highly recommend Claudio.

Taormina was fabulous and would absolutely go back. Etna was beautiful but I would prefer to spend more time in Taormina. Marcelo our guide was wonderful.
