ETNA Y TAORMINA **ATENCIÓN: Tour disponible SÓLO saliendo desde Catania Tour no disponible para pasajeros de cruceros. El Etna es el volcán activo más alto de la Tierra en la placa euroasiática. Sus frecuentes erupciones a lo largo de la historia han alterado el paisaje circundante, a veces profundamente, y han amenazado repetidamente a las poblaciones que viven a su alrededor. El Comité de la UNESCO ha incluido el Monte Etna en la lista de bienes que constituyen el Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Taormina es una ciudad turística muy famosa, también destino de artistas, escritores e intelectuales (Goethe y Truman Capote estaban entre los que se alojaron allí). Particularmente apreciada no sólo por su belleza paisajística y su fantástico panorama, sino también por su “dolce vita”, su permisividad y su transgresión. Itinerario
Tendrás la oportunidad de descubrir en un día las bellezas de nuestro volcán y la espléndida Taormina, después de la recogida en la ciudad de CATANIA aquí vamos: Primera etapa: caminando a través de bosques centenarios, cráteres excéntricos y formaciones de lava únicas (generalmente las montañas Sartorius o los cráteres formados en 2002 en el lado noreste del Etna), nuestro guía naturalista le presentará el fascinante mundo de los fenómenos volcánicos. Segunda parada: explorará una cueva volcánica (por ejemplo, la "Grotta dei Ladroni" o la "Cueva de Cassone") con el equipo necesario (cascos y antorchas). Durante el invierno, la visita a la cueva no se lleva a cabo en caso de nieve o hielo significativo en la entrada que la haría peligrosa. Tercera etapa: si las condiciones climáticas lo permiten, tendrá la oportunidad de tomar un aperitivo típico de 'mesa caliente' siciliana. De lo contrario, el almuerzo se llevará a cabo en el interior de una hermosa casa de campo de montaña.
Cuarta parada: por la tarde llegarás a Taormina donde, de forma independiente, podrás visitar su elegante recorrido que separa las puertas de la ciudad medieval, Porta Catania y Messina. Se le proporcionará un mapa que contiene toda la información sobre los lugares más importantes para visitar. El guía te esperará en la entrada de la ciudad (principalmente zona peatonal) para el regreso a Catania. Durante la excursión, alcanzará una altitud máxima de 2000 metros (área de competencia de nuestros guías de naturaleza).

This was an amazing and very informative tour. It was a little more challenging than I expected due to heavy snowfall on the volcano, but we were given boots and extra jackets if needed. The lunch and wine was fantastic! More food than we could eat!

Giovanni was an excellent and exuberant guide. So nice to have someone so passionate and knowledgeable about our 'adventure'. The trek up the 'craters' was a bit difficult ( 3 in their 60s and 1 70 y/o) but worth it. The lava tube was really cool. Even had a bat fly by our heads!! Food at the wine area was very good and varied with several local foods. Only issue was communication from Viator as to where to meet for the tour. Left several messages/emails and did not hear until the day before. This is unfortunately typical for Viator in my experience. Still I would highly recommend this tour and ask for Giovanni if possible.
