Pocos turistas llegan a Mongolia sin visitar su hito más emblemático, una estatua de plata brillante de Chinggis Khaan de 40 metros de altura. Construida en 2008 de acero inoxidable, la estatua dramática, construida con fondos privados, tiene un elevador (elevador) que sube por la cola, desde donde hay escalones hasta la cabeza del caballo. Fue construido aquí, según la leyenda, porque este fue el lugar donde Chinggis Khaan encontró un látigo dorado.
El complejo incluye un impresionante museo (con artefactos Hunnu y artículos del imperio mongol), una cafetería y una tienda de recuerdos. Un cortometraje describe cómo se construyó el monumento. El templo contiene una thangka que representa el mito del Shambhala (una thangka es una pintura sobre algodón o seda; Shambhala es, según la filosofía budista, un lugar fabuloso escondido en algún lugar de Asia), un mandala de Kalachakra y otros objetos vinculados a esta creencia. En la planta baja de este edificio, se puede admirar una ”galería de filosofía budista”, con 220 pinturas originales del artista.

Highly recommend this tour! The guides were super helpful and nice. We visited all the attractions on the itinerary. Beautiful scenery, and really something everyone should do! At first, I was having trouble finding guides that were reasonably priced, and I'd say this one def was! So definitely a good value for money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. SUPER NICE GUIDES that will take pics of u and help u pose (for those that dont know how to).
A truly interesting excursion with a total of 11 participants from 7 countries. Everything was perfect, the two guides were friendly and always helpful. The only downside is that Ulaanbaatar is an absolute traffic nightmare. I have rarely seen such a congested metropolis, but of course, the organizer cannot be blamed for that; we must have spent a total of 2-3 hours in various traffic jams.
Visiting the statue was not just about seeing the artwork; it was a complete cultural experience. I booked the tour with Amazing Mongolia. My guide, degi, was excellent—his English is perfect, and his passion for Mongolian history brought the giant steel statue to life.
My friends and I booked a one-day tour and it exceeded all expectations! The itinerary covered all the must-see attractions and included a delightful experience of tasting local Mongolian cuisine. A special shoutout goes to our guide, who also expertly handled the driving duties. His knowledge of the area was impressive, and he shared fascinating insights into Chinggis Khaan and Mongolian history. His passion for the subject truly shone through, making the trip not only enjoyable but also educational. This tour was worth every moment and I can't recommend it highly enough. This trip was certainly one for the memory bank. Amazing statue and museum. Our guide was super passionate and brought enthusiasm in his presentation. He really made the tour more interesting and brought the Mongolian history to life with his great attitude. The national park/turtle rock was OK but the highlight was the statue. Lunch was traditional and nice, again the guide's attitude made the day fun. Comfortable van to travel in and a small group was great. Only downside was the expensive souvenir shop - but that's nothing to do with the tour operator.
This was an awesome tour! Our guide, Bayur, is an incredible storyteller. He made the history of Mongolia come to live by describing events, important people and battles in vivid detail. It was a lot of fun. He was also very patient and a good driver. At the end of our tour, we had trouble locating our lodging. He offered to stay with us until we found where we were going. It was a nice very nice gesture. I highly recommend anyone who visits Mongolia to get the tour with him. You'll never forget your experience.
