Escape Room al aire libre - Centro de Vancouver

Fun puzzles, but not intuitive on where/how to start them. Fortunately, the hints have instructions for where to start which help a lot! Long walk from puzzle 1 to puzzle 2 and puzzle 2 to puzzle 3, then subsequent puzzles are all very close. I enjoyed the occult aspect of the game and my favorite puzzle involved ghost sightings! The first puzzle was very close to the Gastown steam clock, and I'm sad that wasn't involved in the game.

Leave the car at home, don’t worry about parking, and take transit for a multi-stage adventure that you should plan to make a full day of. Everything is within walking distance and no time limit, so you can explore freely. The puzzles were challenging enough that it took us about 3 hours to complete, although there is a useful hint system if you get stuck. We have done numerous escape rooms and the first puzzle still made us jump to wrong conclusions before the Aha! moment came on. The real world clues were well utilized and made us revisit familiar places with new eyes. This box theme did seem to encourage group participation as it did allow 1-6 different intro puzzles that led to multiple concluding keywords. Overall it was a great way to spend the day and become a tourist in your city.

I absolutely loved this adventure. I am an avid scavenger hunt participant, and this game was right up my alley. I did have a couple of issues: - The "magic 8" ball leaked, and the plastic viewing piece was fogged and heavily scratched, so we didn't end up using it - One of the cards had a QR code with a sticker that got stuck to it, and we were almost unsure if we would be able to use it (we wet it slightly and were able to figure it out). Things I loved: - The clues were well presented and dynamic. - The use of the outside world added to the overall enjoyment, and the fact that my phone was only used to read some extra story pieces and to write in answers was a perfect addition and allowed me to be present - I love the use of tangible items as well, rather than it all being on the phone only. - The difficulty was not too hard, but it was definitely hard (the hardest one was finding the real world clue that corresponded with the sepia photos) Suggestions for the future: - More of them, please! - Allow for the envelopes to be resealable to be able to play again. I know there was a scratch-off one, so that would need to be changed to something else.

The outdoor escape room was awesome! It had a great story (ghostly theme) and took us to many of the key sights and neighborhoods within walking distance of downtown Vancouver. My tip would be to do the first puzzle before leaving home or your hotel as you don't need any "real-world clues", then start near Gastown/ Waterfront Station. Once you've opened the last clue, you can also take the rest of it home to complete there (or finish up at your leisure in a cafe or bar). We've done a lot of escape rooms and puzzle games, and this one was perfect: not crazy difficult but not too easy, and emphasized walking to different areas of downtown. If you get stuck, just turn to the app for help. Definitely recommend it and would do a different one in another city I was visiting.
