This daytrip at Nusa Penida was absolutely wonderful and exciting. I was able to enjoy many activities with my family throughout the trip. The views were incredibly beautiful to the human eye! However, there are 2 concerns when visiting this island. Despite the amazing views; Nusa Penida had a hot weather and was very crowded. The driver was also kind and welcoming. Definitely a great trip, thanks for the service. Really recommend!
Its a nice place but the roads are vary bad. and the steamer service is pathetic. there is no deck to enter the steamer. steamer drivers drive it like a racing boat, they treat tourist like a hurd of sheep. ppl were hitting the roof as they were driving at full throttle. its the worst day of my life. do not go there with family. it will be good if you like to go adventure without worrying about your safetly, u can try this otherwise leave it
Dear Guest : we are very appreciate for your Value time to review our tours . very true , in nusa penida island the Roads and infrastructure need to improve a lot, hope the local goverment do quick action for the infrastructure Thank You
Was described as a great day trip, was told it was better than Lembongan but found out that in reality it is not quite thete yet. Roads and infrastructure need a lot more work. A lot of nice beaches and scenery but way too much time spent traveling on overcrowded and unmaintained roads. In time it will be as good as the Lembongan trip but not yet. Food and staff were great.

You see the idyllic pics and you think ''I want to see this piece of paradise" so you do the research and book a tour where you can either get picked up from your hotel or make your own way to Sanur to catch a boat. Make sure it's a speed boat as it's only a 30min ride as opposed to 90min. So far so good and you're on your way to Nusa Penida. On a clear day, you can see Mt Agung from the boat. Getting off the boat once you get there is a challenge. There's no bridge or pontoon and the wharf is still under construction, so you need to jump from a moving vessel onto a slippery, mud pit where you hope to God they catch you. Dangerous for kids, older people or anyone who is not used to doing the splits regularly. But still at this stage you're still excited and looking forward to those amazing views at Kelingking and Broken Beach. Your driver meets you and your off on your adventure. However, you soon realise that you've potentially got yourself and your family in a very dangerous situation once you head into the mountains. The broken roads are super narrow with deep ravines. These are used as a 2way road, so passing incoming cars and trucks means that your car will have a wheel hanging off the cliff a lot. Dangerous roads with more potholes than Swiss cheese. Many people get car sick because you get thrashed around pretty badly, not to mention the depth of those ravines if you have a fear of heights. Nusa Penida is nowhere near ready to accommodate this amount of tourists. It's irresponsible to advertise these trips without proper warning. Not for young kids, older people, unfit or injured people as there are steep rocky climbs, no safety barriers, the heat alone will kill you. I saw lots of people struggling with these climbs, wearing inappropriate footwear and clothing trying to get the perfect Insta shot. Crystal Bay sounds idyllic but it's awful. Impossible to walk on or swim as it's a full on coral beach and the surf is rough. I'm talking about big chunks of coral, not coarse sand. No proper facilities and searing heat with no shade. I basically regretted my trip by that stage and was glad I hadn't put my 2 kids through that experience. Maybe in 10yrs, they will be prepared for visitors but now, in 2019 it's still too unsafe. If you're looking for calm lagoons to swim in, try Plantation Island Fiji, Belle Mare Mauritius or Maré in New Caledonia. Leave Nusa Penida for a decade.

We hired a driver for the day and went to a few places on the island. The roads are bumpy and it takes time to get to one place to another. Angel's Billabong was disappointing. We visited during the low tide but it was not as cool as some of the photos you see online. No a cess to the water either. Broken beach and T-Rex (Kelingking) were absolutely beautiful. But it was full of tourists and it seems as if taking photos is the main purpose here. At T-Rex, we went down to the beach. It's very tiring and dangerous. It took us an hour to get down. The beach is very nice but the waves are very strong. We didn't stay for long. I wouldn't have gone down to the beach if I knew what the route was like. Then the Cristal Bay. Snorkeling here was interesting. This is where you can relax on bean bags. Overall, beautiful island but visiting once is enough. Too many people.
Dear Max, Good afternoon, Thanks so Much for the review, its very apreciate . yes, correct, nusa penida island is very popular now, so many Tourist visit this island, and Kelingking Beach is one of best beach in the world according to the tripadvisor voting. hope we can serve you again in your next Bali trip. Thank You
Hi, Nusa Penida island has extremely bad infrastructure. It begins right at Sanur harbour which doesnt even have a jetty which means one has to wade through knee deep water. Of course one wave and you are drenched. Once there you are taken to Kellingking beach which is an hour of super bumpy ride.. the roads are so bad that its unbelievable it even support civilisation. After that Angel Billabong another 40 mins, and crystal Bay another 40 mins. There are no freshwater showers at any of the beaches which means you are spending the whole day in that state. the place that they will stop at for lunch will be very basic. I wont do this again, nor recommend it to any of my friends. Yes what one could do is trek down to Kellinking beach and back and spend rest of the day having a late lunch and head back at about 3 oclock
Dear coolsabharwals, Thanks so much for the review of Nusa penida island , Yes, this island is still new development and new tourist spot with stunning view, hope our Bali Goverment will do a good infrastructure soon, all there are still Basic , there are no Public facilities yet . despite of the Basic, nusa penida island will spoil you a very best view and worthy to visit,

Amazing tour. Driver and his assitant very friendly. Highly recommend this tour. Very helpful and everything went according to tour and they didnt rush us. They help my mom and dad climb over difficult rocks. Best tour ever!

Frankly quite a disappointment. Firstly there is a choppy 40 min boat ride and then terribbly bad roads within the island. There are only 3 spots worth visiting and between each is a 30 min drive on terribly potholed roads ( although some are being relaid). I thought the watersports being offered on the island was a full fledged one, but then learnt it was only snorkelling on offer. Then another choppy fast boat ride back. We were ripped up by the end of the day.

So I took a chance booking this tour seeing as it was new to Viator and we gambled and lost. According to the booking information the tour sounds awesome but it was horrible. There was no organization or coordination between the said activities and my friend and I were left to fend for ourselves. We did none of the activities that were listed. Our driving picked us up early in the morning took us to the port beach where the boats pull up he asked us what boat company we were going to? Which we had no idea because we thought it was already organized we then waited until the driver arranged for us to get on another boat that transfers locals to the island. Getting on the boat itself was a mission since the pull up on the beach. When we then got to the island we were the last people waiting and could not locate our tour guide. After all others were gone a lady came and said she was there for us and then had us walk along the beach to a small resort where she told us to have a seat and she offered us a drink. She then asked us what WE wanted to do? Confused because we thought the day was planned I showed the lady the listing and she had no idea about the activities listed. She told us her driver would take us to Crystal Bay Beach and bring us back when we are ready. So we rode in a truck bed across the island for 1hr until we arrived at the beach. The beach was pretty we hung out took pictures ate our lunch that was provided and asked to be taken back. We then were taken back to the resort where we were told we could us the pool facilities until our boat was ready to take us back. Took another boat ride back earlier then was listed and there was no driver waiting for us so we had to pay for a taxi to get back to our hotel. The island was beautiful but this tour was a scam and I wouldn't recommend anyone spending their money on this just to go to a beach. There are plenty of beaches in Bali to see. NOT WORTH IT!
