Christ the Redeemer was incredible! The weather was perfect for it, the transport was efficient and the staff were very friendly and helpful!
Skip-the-line tickets make it easier to get into Christ the Redeemer and cut down on wait times. The view of Rio de Janeiro from the top is really beautiful and it is a place to visit. However, the crowd was still quite large, especially at the popular photo spots. After reaching the top, I expected a little more organization. The attraction is definitely worth a visit, but the experience was a little less comfortable than I expected. Still, I enjoyed it as an important part of my trip.
You have to skip the line or you'll be waiting for an hour or more. Its crowded but not like the Vatican or the Louvre. Theres parking down the road about 1km so try to walk up and take the train using skip the line. They speak English enough but use your app to translate if needed.
It was a gorgeous day, amazing view all around, was crowded but worth it...a truly must do experience... only negative was that the escalators going back down we're broken
Worth every cent! Traded the tickets in and went right to the front of the line. I asked how long the regular line was and they said about 45-1 hour. Save the time!
The online purchase showed instability and returned error in some attempts after the payment step. Completion of the purchase was only possible in the third attempt. The rise experience was very positive. The facilities are large, well organized and have proper signalling. The waiting time was within the expected. However, the return experience was extremely negative. There was a large crowd of people, no visible organization of queues, adequate guidance by employees or attention to accessibility. At certain points, people moved in opposite directions by narrow corridors and surrounded by grids, generating distress, discomfort and concern for safety. To make the situation worse, photo sellers were constantly circulating in the crowd, going back and forth to offer their products, which further increased the riot and hampered circulation. During this process, it was not possible to identify employees acting in the organization of the flow of people or providing guidance. The feeling was of disorganization incompatible with the value charged for the service. The situation also raises concerns regarding accessibility for the elderly and people with reduced mobility. I had considered taking my mother and mother-in-law, both over 80 years old, but after this experience, I would not feel comfortable doing it. In addition, I took a foreign visitor to meet the Christ the Redeemer and was embarrassed by the experience offered on the descent, which does not correspond to the quality expected of one of the main tourist points of the country. A tourist attraction of this relevance should offer a safe, organized and compatible experience with its international reputation.
First, if you use TripAdvisor to buy these tickets, you get a message that tells you to make sure your digital tickets show up in your phone Trip Advisor App. We did that and made sure they were there, but when we got to the venue and opened the tickets on our phone, we got a message that your tickets are NOT there and that you have to check your email to get them. That's a problem if you don't routinely access your email on your phone or have signal or connection issues while traveling away from a strong wifi connection, which was our case. Second, the line to get on the train was 3.5 hours long. The Corcovado representative told us there was no such thing as a Skip-the-Line ticket and directed us to wait in the 3.5-hour line. So, we just left. We didn't feel like our age and health would allow us to wait that long standing in line. Waste of time and money.
The view of Christ the Redeemer was absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth seeing at least once. The overall experience felt safe, and despite a fairly long line, the process moved faster than expected and I was able to get through quicker than many others. Unfortunately, there was a significant issue during my visit when the train experienced mechanical problems. This resulted in an approximately 2-hour delay, and because there were no alternative transportation options available to leave the site, everyone simply had to wait. While the situation was handled safely, communication from the staff was disappointing. At times, staff members seemed to ignore concerns and were unable to provide clear updates or answers about what was happening or when service would resume. What should have been a simple 2- to 3-hour visit turned into nearly 4 hours due to the train breakdown and waiting time. Despite the frustration, the breathtaking views and iconic experience of seeing Christ the Redeemer made the trip memorable. Future visitors should be prepared for possible delays and allow extra time in their schedule just in case transportation issues arise.
Amazing view of the city of Rio visible. Loved the train ride.
This was absolutely a life changing experience! We had intended on going early in the morning (7:30 am) to try and beat the crowds despite having the “skip the line” tickets, but one of our group members became ill late last night so we were unable to go until about 10:30 am. When we arrived the line was wrapped up an entire city block plus the entire tram station, we showed the ticket agent our pass and we were able to get on the next available tram. Without this pass we would have had to wait for at least 2-3 hours in the sun just to get on the tram. The staff was also very helpful and guided us where we needed to go!
