Since tickets were already sold out on the official website, I applied through this company. I received confirmation that my reservation was complete, so I went ahead and booked my train and hotel tickets. However, the week before the tour, I was contacted again to say that my tickets had not been secured. Although they said they would try until just before the event, they ultimately couldn't get tickets, so my train and accommodation reservations were cancelled, and some of them weren't refunded because it was so last minute. I want them to improve their irresponsible behavior. It's not professional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This tour operator does not actually have tickets available; instead, they run a sketchy ticket-reselling scheme. They went as far as forcing my client to buy the tickets on the spot using their own credit card. Furthermore, we booked Circuit 2, but they were given Circuit 1 instead. The experience only got worse from there. The operator forced my clients to skip the bus line in the sketchiest, most unbelievable way possible. On top of that, he mistreated my client, rudely stating that he didn't even know why he was doing this. To make matters even more alarming, there is clear collusion at the site. The ticket checker at Machu Picchu appeared to be part of this shady network; after receiving a signal from the tour operator, they let my client pass without even checking the tickets—which were actually dated for a completely different day. Knowing Viator’s high standards, this type of unprofessional, chaotic, and corrupt behavior should absolutely not be tolerated on this platform. I highly advise avoiding this operator.
Be aware of the train cost and schedule. This was my second trip after 44 years and much has changed. The tiny village of Aquacallientes has much to offer,
Just a wonderful experience. Worth every penny. The guide Caesar was very attentive. The place is magical.
