Excellent science center with numerous interactive exhibits, movies, and learning opportunities. Each o e was better than the last-amazingly well done. Our grandson, 3 years, loved the dinosaur movie in The Dome theater. We spent over an hour among the dinosaur exhibit and another at the kids water zone.
We visit science museums everywhere we go and being able to provide hands on experience for our kids is very important for us. We’ve been to at least 20 or 30 different ones across the world This museum is almost the best when it comes providing inspiring and intriguing hands on experience. A lot of places use digital things (buttons etc) to be interactive with kids but this place is true hands-on. And amazingly they built a lot of exhibits in house and embed important science theories in it. Just amazing.
Extremely high and unreasonable cost of admission. Poor condition of exhibits. Lack of attendants to assist guests. High cost of parking. I last visited the Science Center about 8 years ago. The exhibits today are the same ones exhibited 8 years ago but now they are worn out and run down. I was surprised that there were no Science Center employees available to assist with the exhibits. At least, I could not find one. I was shocked and appalled at the cost of admission for a Senior (me) and my 5 year old grandson. Outrageous!

We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your visit and hope we can address some of your concerns. We have made some significant changes to our building in the past 8 to 10 years, including a full renovation and expansion of KidsTown, which it sounds like your grandson may have enjoyed. We also have a Makerspace on Level 3 and Life, our nature and conservation exhibit on Level 1, both of which were created in the past 5 to 7 years. We're currently remodeling our domed theater, expecting to launch planetarium shows and giant-screen films again in May of this year. Each of these spaces are designed to create new, fresh experiences for guests like you who have visited more than once over time. We're sorry to hear that you were unable to find staff to help answer questions or provide assistance. We do try to have staff available on the museum floor to help guests engage with our experiences in a meaningful way. We'll be sure to take a look at our scheduling and staffing in the hopes that we can avoid this experience for future guests. As for our price, we understand that in the current economy, income can feel precious and pricing may feel high. We are a non-profit institution that relies on ticketing for the majority of our funding. The price of admission helps support not only maintenance and staffing for our building, but it also supports our many access programs and experiences that bring our mission to inspire science learning for all to life. It's our goal to be an impactful partner to our community, and we appreciate all the support our visitors provide in bringing that vision to life. While we're sad to hear you didn't enjoy your visit, we truly appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. The place is amazing for children of any age. My son is 2 years old and has loved various sectors of the Orlando Science Center. I'll be back there for sure.
We love the science museum, and had planned to take a day to do it while in town, specifically for the dinosaur exhibit. We bought tickets well in advance but were not told when purchasing them that the whole 4th floor would be closed - so no dinosaurs. Needless to say my 5 year old was a bit disappointed.
Hi Derek. We're sorry to hear that your recent visit didn't live up to your expectations. Our ticketing system does not allow for us to make disclaimers for specific admission dates at the point of sale, but we always do our best to make sure any closures will be listed on our website calendar. On the date of your visit, the building closed at 3:00 pm to prepare for one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, Science & Wine. As a non-profit, we host these events sporadically to help support our mission to inspire science learning for life. We're sorry to hear that the logistics of that event interfered with your visit, and we hope you'll consider visiting again next time you're in town.
As far as science museums go, this one was pretty lame, IMO. But I'm used to educational displays and such. This one was clean and spacious and there were lots of activities for kids—which is very cool. And it is indeed hands-on as advertised! It's just ... full of simple puzzles and childish riddles and the sort of little experiments you do at home for your 1st grade science fair. Nothing real complex or truly educational? Odd experience. Once is plenty.
It is a great place to take kids, we went on Presidents day so the place was full of families. The movies are a great thing to do for adults and kids, but most of the attractions are really designed for kids. Be aware, parking is not cheap in the garage (our bill was $15 for about 3 hours).
Remarkable place although overpriced. It is geared mainly to children and is incredible for them. They many hands on activiites as well as shows, movies, and demonstrations. Unlike many places, the films are included in the price. The cafeteria is amazing and reasonably priced. As adults, we still had an enjoyable day. For children it is a must.
Interesting science museum with highly educational content especially for children and teenagers of school and high school age. A well-studied path leads to exploring various areas of Science with many interactive activities. Very interesting the Life section with the reconstruction of various environments and natural habitats. The Kinetc Zone allows direct verification of certain physical and kinematic phenomena Much appreciated by young visitors is the DinoDigs entirely dedicated to the world of dinosaurs.
Amazing and delicious! A great request for a day without parks and also without shopping, but with lots of fun. All activities and experiences can be done by people of all ages and are very interesting.. opportunity to learn and enjoy the day.
