The BEST aquarium that I have visited. Fantastic layout and a real learning experience. The Turtle Rescue experience was very worthwhile. Cost was more than reasonable for the time we spent there. A world class experience right in the middle of the city. Better than Sydney, Melbourne, Noumea etc

What an unbelievable experience at the Cairns aquarium. We had 45 minutes in the 'turtle hospital' - brilliant, with a really knowledgeable marine biologist and then we visited everything else in the aquarium. The layout leaves you plenty of space to view everything and the aquarium tanks are bursting with fish, coral and colour. It is the vibrant colours of the fish especially that blow you away. Each tank is crystal clear and there is so much to see and take in. We spent 3 hours there and the time flew by. Truly remarkable and well worth a visit - but leave yourself plenty of time.

Lucky enough to visit for work and had a great experience. The highlight was the turtle hospital tour which was a fantastic example of real life learning in action and an opportunity to see the personalities of the amazing creatures being nursed back to health. If Brett's engaging and informative presentation this doesn't make you rethink your use of plastic bags, nothing will.

Really amazing experience, especially the turtle hospital. The guide was extensively knowledgeable and super friendly. We learnt a lot. As a small group, we could see the turtles and feed them. The Aquarium itself is worth spending time in. Great opportunity to see all the marine inhabitants. Very enjoyable. Definitely recommend it.

We decided to do the turtle hospital experience as my son loves turtles and it wasn’t a lot extra on top of general admission. Safe to say it was more than worth the money. Brett was fantastic explaining things and showing us the hospital area and to get so close to the turtles was amazing!! I’d definitely recommend this to anyone in area looking for something to do and the admission costs are helping the cause as well.

first went to Egypt tour then thought why not combine both. both were brilliant. i didn't think i would enjoy the aquarium, but it was fantastic. instructors explaining various things on the reef displays of corals a walk though where the marine life can surround you, and there were little crocodiles so i just enjoyed myself immensely. great day out.

The aquarium was a visit to see the fish and mammals we have been snorkeling with the last few days. It’s a very big well laid out aquarium starting with the fresh water and moving into the ocean and reef. We listened to two different marine biologists give us talks regarding the fish, mammals and the ocean and human interaction with all of it. Very informative. It’s air conditioned and comfortable. A great place to visit even if you are seeing lots of these fish/mammals firsthand in the sea.

really informative talk about different sea turtles found in Australia, the threats they face in the wild that are endangering them, and what the rehabilitation programme. got to see a few turtles but not for too long. some money from the ticket goes towards helping the cause so definitely worth it!
