Itinerario

Entrada incluida

Ok tour

We were expecting an audio guide on a device provided by tour operator. When in fact it was something you have to download to your mobile phone. We struggled getting Wi-Fi reception in colosseum so did struggle to hear the info at times. Although we collected our tickets from the tour guide we still had to queue to get in (approximately 45 mins). Whatever you do don’t forget your ID - they will not let you in without it. However we did enjoy the colosseum and would recommend a visit when in Rome

So much human pain and human vision

I mean, seriously. It’s the Colosseum.

Terrible experience; find another operator to visit the Colosseum in Rome.

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL... We made the reservation through Tripadvisor (Viator). We did not receive the tickets, and on the same day, minutes before entering, we had to call Italy Pass tours at +393477581405 to get some explanation. In the end, we sent the tickets via WhatsApp.

Not through your books, but nice to have seen inside.

Never with your books, €60 paid instead of €38. You describe the beauty with audio but it's free from the Colosseum itself.

Interesting to be in such an old arena!

It's cool to be there, says Billy, 12 years old! Hot day at the Colloseum in Rome!

Great place

Really enjoyed the colosseum what an amazing and interesting place. Audio guide was ok, but we also used the free official one. Took me a while to find tickets on my email and where to go

AVOID - tickets were for the wrong time, were denied entry and lost $80 USD

AVOID this vendor. The booking was for 4pm but the tickets said 3:30pm - SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS - our whole family was denied entry to the Colosseum. These people are just reselling tickets you can buy in the front and charging extra for an "audio tour," which is a Google Doc mp3 link. AVOID.

Booked through Trip Advisor who sold it to Viator who gave it to ItalyPass tours, who did not have a rep where they said

Purchased this tour through Trip Advisor May 19 who promptly sent it to Viator ( but you could not access the tour on Viator’s app). Viator referred us to Italy Pass Tours who apparently buys these tickets in bulk because I could not buy tix directly from the Colosseum directly due to being sold out. Did not receive access to the tickets until June 2nd ( after I am in Italy having email access issues). Unable to put tix in my wallet so had to download PDF but had trouble getting all 3 tix to show in documents. Never could get audio guide to load even starting 20 minutes before until 15 minutes into our timed entry. The Italy Passes website we had to download was at maximum capacity and couldn’t accept us. Compared to earlier in the week, it was not that busy. All said we did get in and the Colosseum is still impressive but too many hoops and did not receive all services promised. It makes me think twice about using an aggregator site like Trip Advisor or Viator. Book early, book direct.

Would have liked clearer information

Missed to get clear information that you need to identify yourself with ID / passport. Would have liked to have received clear information that the time changed from 16 to 16.45. We think it was poorly signposted on the inside around the different listening zones. Mighty experience though, considering age and history!

Poorly organized distribution

Half an hour before our scheduled entry, we still had not received any information about where to collect the tickets or how to access the audio guide. It turned out that we had to meet a representative near the Colosseum to pick up paper tickets and download an app with approximately 150 MB of language files to use the audio guide. Unfortunately, none of these important details were mentioned in the voucher. I also sent messages through Viator but never received a response. Since we had booked almost a month in advance, I would have expected these instructions to be communicated well before the day of the visit. In the end, I had to urgently call the phone number listed on the voucher and was able to obtain the necessary information just in time to enter. The experience itself was fine, but the lack of communication beforehand caused unnecessary stress and could easily be improved.
