Very relaxing with beautiful views of the mountains. Also , they had multiple springs with different temperatures. So, we had options.
We went as a family enjoy going from the different pools, sauna and steam room. The drinks and food were first class. I do think that they could include the Towel.

After looking at several of Iceland's famous lagoons and hot springs, we decided to visit Hvammsvík, and we're so glad we did. Not only was it a more affordable option than some of the better-known alternatives, but the setting felt incredibly natural, peaceful and authentic. The drive there alone is worth the trip. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and we spent much of the journey admiring the mountains, coastline and local wildlife. By the time we arrived, we already felt like we'd had an experience before even stepping into the water! We arrived around 5pm and, although it initially looked busy, there was plenty of space for everyone. The pools never felt overcrowded and, as the evening went on, it became noticeably quieter and even more relaxing. The hot springs themselves are beautifully integrated into the landscape, with incredible views in every direction. Sitting in the warm water while looking out over the bay was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip. A few tips for future visitors: • Bring shore shoes or some form of foot protection. The natural terrain can be a little rough underfoot in places and you'll be much more comfortable. • Bring a hat. Even on a pleasant day there's often a breeze coming off the water, and you'll be glad of the extra warmth when moving between pools. • If possible, consider an evening visit. We found it became quieter as the evening progressed, making for a wonderfully peaceful experience. If you're looking for a beautiful, less commercial alternative to Iceland's more famous lagoons, Hvammsvík is an excellent choice. Stunning scenery, relaxing pools, abundant wildlife and a great value experience all combine to make this somewhere we'd happily visit again.
Dear 592sheetalr, Thank you for visiting Hvammsvík Hot Springs and for taking the time to share your feedback with us and the Tripadvisor community. I am delighted to learn you had such a great time with us and enjoyed the drive, value for money, privacy and views in particular. I am sure other readers will appreciate your detailed and helpful tips, we do rent out wading shoes at reception if needed and sell woolen hats in the winter time for those who forget. I sincerely hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Warm regards, Hilmar Hvammsvík Hot Springs
Karen and I thoroughly enjoyed Hvammsvík Hot Springs. The coastal setting is beautiful, the facilities are excellent, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. It was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip, and we highly recommend it.
We paid for the premium package and spent approximately $300 additionally for lunch for our party of five before using the spa. The coastal views are excellent. There is a very cool pool that mixes the open water with the hot spring water. Depending on the tide, the temperature varied in the pool. The staff and customer service leave a lot to be desired, however. I did not see one staff member outside of the main check, cashier, food counter area. When I asked to replace a soaking wet towel for my son so that he could dry off after showering, I was told that I would have to pay for the extra dry towel? Are you kidding me? This nickel and diming gives this place a pretty low end feel. How much can it cost to process an extra towel to provide your patron a dry one if they ask? Maybe 50 cents? Maybe? Obviously no one managing or working in this place had any formal training in hospitality. Such a simple thing would have made an experience a positive one versus a negative one
Dear DOCPKC, Thank you for visiting Hvammsvík Hot Springs and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am glad to learn you enjoyed the views and pools yet of course disappointed to learn of the shortfalls in service you describe. I can assure you the towel rental we operate is not for the nick and dime but for sustainability reasons. When we designed the location and the concept we put total emphasis on preservation of the nature, using sustainable and local materials and supplies and minimizing the environmental impact we have in the long run. Unfortunately us humans tend to treat things we don't pay for with less respect and this can easily end up in each guest using 3 towels per visit causing increased and unnecessary laundry and water usage. For this reason we decided to operate a towel rental system instead of including towels with every visit. Having said this we should of course have provided you with a new towel if the one you had accidentally got wet as we understand this can happen. We will review this with the team to prevent recurrence in the future. I would like to thank you again for passing on your feedback as this truly helps us improve moving forward and hope you give us the chance of redeeming ourselves in the future. Warm regards, Hilmar Hvammsvík Hot Springs
A must stop on your tour of Iceland. Far enough off the beaten path that it’s far less touristy than Blue Lagoon. Many locals visiting when we were there. Great restaurant with soups and simple dishes, coffee, and cocktails. 6 different hot springs, a lake-based warm pool, and the option to take an authentic cold plunge in an 8C/45 degree lake. Awesome steam room and a scenic dry/wet sauna with a panoramic window view. Highly recommend - plan on about 3-4 hours to get the full experience.

This was an incredible experience - Unanimously the best hot springs of the 5 We visited! But bring or rent full water shoes- I scratched my feet up!
Beautiful location with ocean views and snowy mountains. Unfortunately, the weather was quite rough on the day we visited, with strong winds and heavy rain, so we couldn’t fully enjoy it. Would love to come back again on a calmer day.

A very nice "with nature" hot springs! Our ticket included wading shoes which were very necessary to go between the different pools (each a different temp because heated naturally). It did feel a bit crowded a times with some of the smaller/hottest pools not having much room. 2 of the pools get lost to the tide so that doesn't help with crowds either. The swim-up bar pool has true seats but the rest have rocks. We had dinner at the on-site bistro after since we were staying at the on-site resort which was delicious but needs a large menu. I wish the towel rack right inside had numbers to match the lockers so you could remember which towel was yours.

Hvammsvík is a stunning, secluded spot right by the ocean, and the scenery upon arrival is simply breathtaking. Unlike many other locations, the check-in here was seamless and the locker rooms were pleasantly spacious and uncrowded. The experience at the pools was excellent, with a great selection of different temperatures and enough space to avoid any feeling of a crowd. The atmosphere feels incredibly authentic and peaceful; even though the facility is relatively new, it has a very natural and "original" vibe. I especially enjoyed the unlimited access to the steam room and the exhilarating chance to plunge directly into the cold ocean water. With its calming landscapes and superb atmosphere, this is a place I highly recommend for anyone looking to truly unwind. A must-visit!
