This was a great family activity. Our tour guide, Taka, explained a lot about the sport. We would recommend.
Sue was a great guide. She explained everything very thoroughly and was so friendly! She helped us take photos during the tour and even took a few for us after. The morning sumo practice was an authentic experience, which we appreciated over a “sumo show.” We learned so much and really appreciated Sue’s kindness and welcoming personality. I’d recommend this tour to others!
This was one of best things that we have experienced in Tokyo. Starting with the sunrise to get on time, then meeting our guide - JOJI. He has done everything to ensure a pleasant time and a well preparation with a short lecture - to have some extra knowledge before going to the real sumo training. Since we are from 🇧🇬 Bulgaria, our hope was to see and meet Kotooshu - a legend in both Bulgaria and Japan. And this happened! Joji helped us with the initial communication and the whole experience is something to remember whole life long!
Great value and unique opportunity to be part of the world of Sumo wrestling. The practise is quite long (2-3 hours) so for small children ( <10 years old) I assume it’s not the be thing to attend, also it’s early in the morning. But if you don’t get tickets to any Sumo tournaments, this is really a god substitute.
We had an amazing viewing this morning with our guide and interpreter. Jeff-san has incredible insight into the history and practice of sumo and it was fascinating talking to him before and after the viewing. Watching the morning practice itself was a truly unforgettable experience and we would highly recommend for anyone interested in Japanese culture, history or sport.
Sue our guide was very knowledgeable!!! We loved her ability to explain sumo to our group. Watching the sumo practice and knowing what Sue taught us before was super helpful. Also Sue wrote us notes during to explain things. (You are to be quiet while inside the stable). This was real sumo, they worked hard! Would recommend this 💯!
Unique experience at a sumo school in Tokyo! Exciting to watch such powerful athletes train. The guide was kind, prepared and very helpful.
Taka the tour guide. Absolute gentleman. Was great to watch the sumos training, have a new found interest in this sport.
One of the highlights of my trip. Jeff was an amazing guide! Got to learn about the history of sumo and see first-hand how they practice
I wasn't sure what to expect, but Jeff our tour guide gave my husband and I a history of Sumo. Which was really detailed and interesting. Jeff certainly knows his stuff! We had great communication about the event and where to meet. There weren't many people viewing the practice so we had good views. If you're visiting I recommend this tour.
