Gran Mezquita Sheikh Zyed. La Gran Mezquita Sheikh Zayed es un destacado monumento religioso ubicado en Abu Dhabi, la capital de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos (EAU). La construcción de la mezquita comenzó en 1996 y se completó en 2007. Fue diseñada por el arquitecto sirio Yousef Abdelky y presenta una fusión de estilos arquitectónicos islámicos de diferentes regiones, incluidos el persa, mogol y morisco. El diseño de la mezquita tiene como objetivo mostrar la diversidad cultural del mundo islámico y promover el diálogo y el entendimiento entre las diferentes culturas y religiones. El exterior de la mezquita está hecho de mármol blanco y presenta intrincados diseños florales y patrones geométricos. Tiene 82 cúpulas, más de 1000 columnas y está adornado con diversos materiales preciosos, como oro, piedras semipreciosas y cristales. La sala de oración principal tiene capacidad para 40.000 fieles y hay espacios adicionales para la oración en toda la mezquita.
Dejaremos en Dubai después de la Gran Mezquita de Abu Dhabi más o menos 90 minutos. Como probablemente ese tiempo tomó más debido a la intensidad del tráfico.

I enjoyed the ride to the desert tours. The driver Khalil was both friendly and knowledgeable and will recommend him to other Bahamians. I may have missed the dune tours but the other parts was very entertaining. Upon my return hope to get the experience of the desert ride.

It was a very hot afternoon visiting the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque. Over 40°C !!! Our group of 7 was led by Khalil. He was very knowledgeable of the country and the culture. We had a wonderful time at the magnificent Grand Mosque filled with wonderful memories. Khalil brought us after the mosque for beautiful sunset photos. He also introduced us to the local food. Very delicious.
