The guided tour was great, but a bit fast during the Dauchau memorial, for the rest it was great.
This tour was fantastic! I highly recommend doing this early tour of the memorial as it gets very crowded very quickly. It was nice to not have all the big groups around. Sam was a great tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the memorial and just the history around the area as well. Having lunch and touring Dachau was a great ending to the tour. It was nice to see the old town and learn about the townspeople before/during/after the war. The palace gardens were beautiful and the view was just icing on the cake!

Choosing such a visit creates apprehension, a form of collective guilt as Europeans. It is with two of my teenagers that I chose to visit this place steeped in history. We were incredibly lucky: a passionate and fascinating guide: Sam. He took the time to explain the past and the present to us. Besides his mastery of the subject, we were able to discover Dachau and one of its beauties, the Hofgarten Dachau - court garden at Dachau palace... Which goes to show that anything is possible... Sam knows how to respect everyone's pace; to adapt and be attentive to both the older ones and the younger ones. He also tried to speak to us in French. Truly kind. We really recommend it!!!
We were extremely fortunate to have Sam as our guide for this experience. We met in Munich where Sam escorted us by train and local bus to Dachau. Upon arrival Sam guided us though the camp highlighting all of the important aspects of the history of Dachau, and how it served as a model for others that followed. He also detailed the life of a prisoner while in the camp. Following our tour of the camp we caught a local bus into the old town of Dachau where we went to a local Greek restaurant for lunch. Very good meal and friendly service. Following lunch we did a walking tour of the old town where once again Sam highlighted many of the important historical sites in the town. He escorted us back to Munich via train where we thanked him for such a phenomenal experience. Sam was extremely knowledgeable and sensitive during our time at the camp. If considering taking this tour I would highly, highly recommend using Sam as your guide. You will NOT be disappointed!!😊

I had a fantastic experience on this trip. Sam was a fantastic guide who obviously has a deep knowledge and respect for the historical context of the tour. Meet uo and getting to Dachau couldn’t have been smoother and the meal/walk around Dachau old town was an added highlight. I’d gladly recommend this tour.

Our visit to Dachau was a powerful and moving experience today. The memorial site is presented and provides an important insight into a dark chapter of history. Excellent day was had at Dachau, followed by a lovely lunch and a tour of the old city. Our tour with Sam was phenomenal! He was a great tour guide and knew so much about the camp and everywhere we went. He took us to a local food spot in between the site and town tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming down to visit Dachau
