Este es el único recorrido a pie por el paisaje holandés en el área de Leiden, que también está cerca de los campos de flores holandeses. Este recorrido también se puede combinar con una visita a los campos de flores holandeses cerca de Leiden (en el vehículo)

Durante este recorrido a pie, no nos olvidamos de visitar un par de antiguos molinos de viento del exterior, que se usaban para bombear agua para recuperar la tierra. Algunos de ellos son el molino de viento Broekdijk y el molino de viento Boterhuis. El trabajo de los molinos de viento hizo que Holanda no se inundara con agua de mar. Esta vieja técnica se puede aprender de manera muy simple una vez que vea cómo funciona un molino de viento. También pasamos por un campo de golf donde la belleza natural es abundante para ser vista.
Este es también uno de los atractivos que encontramos durante nuestro recorrido. El molino de viento de la ciudad de Leiden, ubicado en las afueras de la ciudad, también se utilizó para bombear agua y recuperar terrenos. También se utilizó en otra fase para hacer grano. Visitamos este molino de viento también desde afuera y pasamos alrededor de 10-15 minutos.
Al comienzo de este recorrido a pie caminamos hacia el río Zijl a través de un barrio tranquilo. Durante esta parte verás la arquitectura de casas y apartamentos típicos holandeses. El río Zijl es un río de tamaño mediano que fluye por el sur y el oeste de Holanda a través de los pólderes. Tiene un paisaje pintoresco donde la gente puede disfrutar todo el año. Caminamos a lo largo de este río hacia los pólderes y los molinos de viento donde tomaremos algunas fotos.
El recorrido a pie terminará con una visita a la granja infantil en el distrito de los lagos. Aquí verás más animales de granja que no verás en tu país de origen. El guía finalmente lo llevará al punto de partida donde tomará el autobús o el transporte propio para regresar. El molino de viento Broekdijk es también un pintoresco molino de viento ubicado en el distrito de Merenwijk en Leiden. Highly recommend this tour for nature and animal lovers. PJ is local to the area and provided some great background on the polders. He even brought a light breakfast to enjoy on our walk. Broekdijkmolen and the children's farm (which is surprisingly large, basically a zoo) were highlights.
Great walk in the park with a knowledgeable guide. Enjoyable easy pace well worth the time an effort. It was money and time well spent.

We enjoyed this walking tour of a calm lakeland area near Leiden which we would otherwise not have seen. PJ's communication before hand was very good, giving us clear instructions of how to get to the meeting point. Don't let the fact you have to travel to the start point put you off. It was an easy bus ride away and you just need to tap your credit/debit card at the start and end of the journey to pay for it. PJ explained very well to us how the windmills had worked in reclaiming the polder land. We were also able to gain a bit of an insight into the Dutch way of life. PJ also gave us some light refreshments. The walk was, of course, very flat and would be suitable for all ages. We really enjoyed the tour.

Pj is an affable and informative guide who knows the land and its history quite well. The land we walked was quite scenic, and I came away with a full understanding of how the polders came about and their importance today. The break for a cup of tea as well timed also. Recommend!

We had a very pleasant walk in the good company of our guide PJ. We walked along a river, saw a mill and a farm. We had explanations about the Netherlands and our environment (the polders and others). In conclusion, a soothing and instructive walk.

It was an amazing walk in the evening with the amazing guide Punartha who was very friendly and gave us lot of explanations.
