It wasn’t all rape and pillage…..!

Spent a very interesting couple of hours here. Fascinating to understand a little the raiding and eventual settling of the Scandinavians. A very well thought through exhibition of time lines and events leading up to a more modern Dublin. The shop and cafe were both very good too, Well worth a visit

Great for All Ages!

What an amazing museum! The history is incredible, the displays fascinating, and the setting spectacular. Connecting to Christ Church just adds to the experience. We learned so much and had a great time doing it. We loved trying on the Viking gear and writing our names in their runic language. I can't recommend this enough!

Do not miss this visit

Very nice museum, the visit is not long, however, it is very well explained and presented. It is worth visiting because you learn about the history of Ireland.

A must see in Dublin!

I cannot recommend this museum enough. It was so fun and informative. It is very well laid out and designed with wax figures and diagrams. We explored on a whim because we were staying so close to it. We booked tickets online at a reasonable price (I do not recall exact price). We stayed for about 2 hours but could have taken longer to read everything. It was not too crowded on a Thursday morning. The staff was kind and helpful. The gift shop was nice and the tower was cool to look out of! Overall a great experience.

It is worth buying tickets for this museum. The visit is organized and experiential; moreover, the route is easy, and its history captivates one's interest.

Dublina 4 history n' culture buffs

Dublina is an immersive experience full of the sights & sounds of historic Dublin. The first part of the exhibit shows the pathways taken by Vikings from various locations across Scandinavia. My favourite part was the renaissance history filled with the sights, sounds & even smells of the market place. Also the various illnesses faced by those in 16 century Dublin were well catalogued Educational & engaging visit. Ensure you have at least 1.5 hours to spare.

I did not like it

Attracted by the reviews and being passionate about history, I was tempted by the combined ticket with Christ Church, but I must say that the experience disappointed me. If you are not very good with English, the museum is not for you, as all the explanations (many) are exclusively in the language, and the setup consists of numerous puppets that reproduce the Vikings and their civilization. Exorbitant price (€16). I do not recommend it.

Fun and Informative

This was a great museum full of Viking and early Irish history. My family especially liked the interactive aspect of the guides in character sharing information and answering questions.

Day out in Dublinia

Visitors from Exchange House, both staff and learners, were blown away by how welcoming the staff at Dublinia were. Our tour guide, Milly, was wonderful — bubbly, informative, passionate, and incredibly engaging. Even though it was busy and loud at times, she made sure to teach at a level that suited our group and treated everyone with kindness and patience throughout the visit. We loved the experience, learned a lot, and were very impressed with the museum. We would highly recommend visiting — especially if you get Milly as your tour guide! Thanks again from everyone at Exchange House. We will definitely be back. — Lyndon, LTI Coordinator, Exchange House were

From Vikings to Medieval Dublin

Another guide I liked recommended this museum so I decided to give it a try. I learned a lot and the exhibits were interactive but not in the way where I thought I should have a small child with me as an excuse. There was a museum guide in part of the Viking exhibit demonstrating crafts. The reconstruction of Viking and medieval/merchant houses was well done. The market was my favorite part. I didn’t realize St Michael’s tower was part of the tour until the end, but great views of the city from there. I spent a little over an hour and a half in total and I read most of the informational plaques. I thought they presented the archaeological finding with sensitivity.
