Su aventura en Steel City comienza donde comenzó la propia ciudad : Point State Park, en la punta del Triángulo de Oro, donde los ríos Monongahela y Allegheny se unen para formar el Ohio. Desde allí caminamos hacia el centro de Pittsburgh, pasando por rascacielos de vidrio que se elevan junto a fachadas centenarias, hacia el Distrito Cultural, una vez industrial y ahora vivo con teatros y galerías, escuchando la historia detrás de los puentes de las Tres Hermanas en el camino. El hambre llega rápido. Comenzamos con el sándwich más famoso de la ciudad, apilado en lo alto con todos los arreglos, y pierogies, el favorito local. Más tarde, un muestreador griego de un lugar mediterráneo con más de 45 años de historia, una vez conocido por alimentar a los trabajadores del muelle y la familia Kennedy. Our guide Sarah met us at Fort Pitt along with several other guests where we set out on a walking food tour. Along the way we learned many cultural/historical facts, and Sarah was always friendly and engaging with all guests. We were able to sample a variety of classic foods such as pierogis with sausage, primanti bro sandwiches, Turkish appetizer sampler, and pizza all in a variety of settings, including indoor and outdoor. In addition you could choose to add on a beverage from the bar in many places if you would like. She kept our group engaged and entertained the whole time. As a family of 5 we had a fun time, and this experience added to our great first visit to the city of Pittsburgh.
