I pride myself with always being on time and I would never be late for an excursion. Well apparently, my entire group had been given 4:30 from their tour operator, as the time but we were given 5pm. We were the last to arrive and the guide was privately messaging us wondering where we were. This was embarrassing for me as a severely punctual person.
You may not be aware, but two other people arrived after you. The important thing is that you were all satisfied with the tour guide, the food and the information provided. A 10-minute delay is never a problem when you’re on holiday. Don’t worry and have a lovely holiday in Sorrento. So, I don’t think I deserve 3⭐ after you had such a great time and we were helpful throughout 😀👍🔆
Inflexible Operator. Don’t bother him. He does not care about customer. Won’t help. I am one person traveling alone so easy to accommodate but chooses not to. Very disappointing. He only offers a date after I am leaving Sorrento even though I carefully explained to him a wide variety of options. It is a good season so he would rather take the money twice… than be nice.@sorrentohiking
I just read this imaginative review of yours. NO NO NO I do not want your money! You asked for a date change a few hours before the tour and I gave you availability on the first available date. But even this second date does not suit you. We did what we could even though you were out of time for the change and cancellation but I think you want a Private guide instead of a shared group guide. The tour is in an hour, you are always on time to come.
It’s not really a food tour. It’s more like a walking tour about the history of Sorrento. There was some cheese and wine tasting at the very end.
And the Lemon groove, and limoncello and other liquors, and wine, and bruschetta, and olives & salame? It's a food&walking tour to DISCOVER SORRENTO
A wonderful comprehensive overview of Sorrento and its history. Food was yummy too. The guide, Georgia, delightful.
Not really a good tour. More a hike around Sorrento with one stop at a cafe for some beautiful cheese, meats & glass of wine. We walked so far that we missed the limoncello at the end. Tour guide was a lovely guy but this wasn’t really a “food tour”. We walked for an hour before we were even offered a drink of water. In 29 degrees - perhaps a bit much. Guide was lovely & knowledgeable but given first stop was a marquetry factory the food bit was a bit lost really.
This is a food&walking tour of Sorrento to discover the city, the productions and meet the real local life. It starts at5pm when it is cooler. On the way, if you ask the guide, we can always stop for a break, there are free drinking fountains. Then we try to offer a good taste of fresh produce and real local limoncello. The tour lasts 2.5 hours including stops, a suitable time to walk around comfortably.
The guide was very nice and knowledgeable, it was good to hear a little about Sorrento but I wouldn’t really call this a typical food tour. We just walked a lot, had some cheese and salami at one place and a tiny sip of limoncello/ another liquor. It was still nice and I’m glad we did it just not like other food tours we’ve done in other cities.
The food taste to the cheese factory include mozzarella, caciotta, ricotta, salami, olives, bruschetta, fresh bread, olive oil and a good glass of wine. Than 3 tastes to the limoncello factory. The tour include a walking tour to Discover locale story, old factory, artisans and Lemon production. We have another food tour but costs 130 euro per person.
This tour was more of a walking/historical tour than it was a food tour. In the two and a half hours, we visited one food place and one lemon farm. I was hoping for more tastings than walking. Our guide, Giovanni was amazing, though! The art shops we were taken to felt more like advertisements. I love art as much as the next person, but I was expecting more food & cheese. We got to sit down at Apreda Lattici e Gastronomia, a quaint little shop that is off the main drag - you wouldn't just stumble upon it. Fresh cheese, cured meats, great wine, and we even went back ourselves the next day. Lastly, we visited I Giardini di Cataldo, the very famous lemon farm in Sorrento, where they produce their own limoncello, which we sampled. Lovely place! Overall, it was a great experience, especially for the price, but don't expect a tasting.
Giovanni was awesome and very knowledgeable about the history of Sorrento and local attractions/ geography! We love knowledge and he had tons to share. We also had an excellent assortment of cheeses and oils meats to enjoy. A whole meal! Grazie!!!
Our guide was great! So nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. You could tell he really enjoyed what he did. I wish we would have done the tour earlier in our trip instead of the last day. He has so many great suggestions that we could’ve done if we would have known. The food and wine was great and all the shops were fantastic. Still thinking about the wine and cheese.
As with most tours, the guide can make or break the experience; ours was amazing, outstanding. He made our tour memorable. I highly recommend this tour to all!
