Avoid this dinner cruise if you care about the food. We paid €89 per person for a roughly 2-hour dinner cruise. The Tripadvisor rating was around 4.7/5, with hundreds of reviews, and the photos made the experience look genuinely upscale. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. The food was absolutely terrible from start to finish. The starter was cheap, torn bread with tomatoes and some sour-tasting sauce. Then came the pork: extremely dry and practically impossible to eat, served with what tasted like burnt pancakes. We left the entire dish. Nobody asked why or whether something was wrong — the waitress simply took the plates away. The lamb was technically edible, but only barely. The soups were watery and tasteless, and the desserts were equally disappointing. Between the three of us, we left a significant amount of the food because it was simply not enjoyable to eat. And the food wasn’t even the only problem. When we boarded, the air conditioning was working. Once the boat started moving, it was turned off, and the cabin quickly became unpleasant. On top of that, strong greasy cooking smells from the kitchen started filling the room. After about 20 minutes we were already thinking about how we could leave. What made it even worse was the complete lack of attention from the staff. Not once did the waitress come over to ask whether everything was okay, even though all three of us had barely touched our main courses. The only genuinely good part was the view of Budapest from the Danube. The boat itself also looked nice. But you’re paying €89 for a dinner cruise, not just for a view. Interestingly, Tripadvisor does contain other recent reviews describing similarly poor food, including complaints about overcooked pork, terrible appetizers, watery/tasteless desserts and generally inedible food, despite the high overall rating. (Tripadvisor) Our verdict: beautiful Budapest views, but an absolutely awful dinner. €89 per person is nowhere near justified for the quality of food and service we received. I would strongly recommend booking a cruise without dinner and having a proper meal somewhere else instead.
Excellent service! Nora was very professional and gave us a wonderful experience
Absolutely wonderful dinner cruise night with Silverline! 🌙 My mom and I really enjoyed the delicious food and beautiful views. A special thanks to Nori, the sweetest waitress, for helping us make the best choices and for being so friendly and kind. She truly made our experience even more special. Many thanks for the wonderful evening! ❤️
The entertainment was very nice. The food was below average. My wife had the fish and it was just ok. I had the chicken because the server said the pork was sometimes dry. The chicken was so I dry I had one bite and ate no more. I would recommend the cruise without dinner. Dinner experience was underwhelming to say the least and a waste of money.
We had a lovely dinner and a beautiful view of Budapest at night. I especially want to recognize Zoltan our host for the evening. He was very customer-focused and friendly and took great pains to take a nice photo of our group. We enjoyed his service very much!
Planned with a friend. 3 hour tour sailing on the Danube with a 4 course dinner. Lovely!
gluten free menu enjoy lights and traditional music during the cruise
The cruise on the river was ok. When we boarded the boat they tried to charge us extra for a window seat which we refused. The food was awful - the worst was the main course of pork tenderloin. They also wanted to charge for a topup of water.
I had a fabulous time on the Silverline Dinner Cruise! The food was enjoyable, the cruise along the Danube was absolutely spectacular, and the entertainment was wonderful—but the staff truly made the experience. My waitress, Cintia, was exceptional—friendly, attentive, efficient, and genuinely pleasant. She made sure I was taken care of all evening and truly made my night. The manager “Sultan” was so cheerful and welcoming. I absolutely loved this experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. If you’re visiting Budapest, this cruise is a must!!!
There is no need to upgrade for the window view. You can see well no matter where you are once the boat leaves. Lots of opportunities for memory-making photos. The entertainment includes musicians (cimbalom, violin and cello), a singer, and four dancers. Had a great time! We didn't have kids but kid friendly.
