Situado a 1.495 metros sobre el nivel del mar, es el pueblo habitado más alto de Bosnia y Herzegovina, rodeado de impresionantes paisajes de montaña y vistas sobre el cañón de Rakitnica. En el camino, pasará por el tranquilo pueblo de Umoljani y verá Studeni Potok, un arroyo único que se curva a través del paisaje como una serpiente. En Lukomir, disfrutará de un almuerzo casero con una familia local, degustando auténticos platos tradicionales, incluidas opciones vegetarianas. En invierno, si es posible, la experiencia se vuelve aún más especial con una aventura con raquetas de nieve a través de las montañas nevadas. Pueblo donde probarás el mejor pastel bosnio de todos los tiempos. La historia de este pueblo es muy rica, lo que verás visitando la necrópolis de lápidas de bistec del siglo XV.
Una mezquita de 200 años en Umoljani es uno de los monumentos nacionales de Bosnia y Herzegovina. La mezquita había sobrevivido a la turbulenta historia del país y conserva lápidas otomanas muy antiguas. Cerca de la mezquita hay una necrópolis medieval que también se visita.
La ruta de senderismo pasa cerca de Studeni Potok. Studeni Potok (Studeni Potok) es una corriente intermitente (clase H - Hidrográfica) en la Federación de Bosnia y Herzegovina, Bosnia y Herzegovina (Europa) con el código de fuente de región de Europa del Este. Se encuentra a una altura de 949 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
Lukomir es el pueblo de montaña más alto y aislado de Bosnia. Lukomir es como un museo etnológico vivo, donde todavía se practican las costumbres de las tribus nómadas y los montañeses de Dinaric. Es interesante por sus casas de piedra únicas con tejas de madera de cerezo. De hecho, el acceso al pueblo es imposible desde las primeras nevadas en diciembre hasta finales de abril y, a veces, incluso más tarde, excepto en esquís oa pie. Un albergue de nueva construcción ahora está completo para recibir invitados. Desde allí, puede hacer magníficas caminatas en el área a lo largo de la cresta del Cañón Rakitnica.
Uno de los riachuelos más largos que por su tonto caudal ha hecho un arte maravilloso de la naturaleza en el cañón entre las montañas, que parece una serpiente. Hay una leyenda muy emocionante sobre esta criatura, que escucharás en tu recorrido.
Nuestra caminata a Lukomir se lleva a cabo al borde del cañón Rakitnica. El río Rakitnica, uno de los afluentes más grandes del profundo río Neretva, ha excavado un cañón de 26 kilómetros de largo e increíblemente hermoso, en gran parte inaccesible, entre las montañas Bjelašnica y Visočica. El cañón Rakitnica es uno de los cañones más profundos de Europa y esta verdadera maravilla natural se encuentra a solo 30 kilómetros de Sarajevo. Las cabeceras del cañón se encuentran a 1.120 metros sobre el nivel del mar y la confluencia de Rakitnica y Neretva está a 320 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Gracias a su belleza e inaccesibilidad únicas, Rakitnica Canyon es un verdadero desafío para montañeros, balseros, pescadores y todos aquellos que aman la naturaleza salvaje e intacta.
Después de la caminata terminada, se regresa a Umoljani y Sarajevo, para lo cual se puede proporcionar un automóvil a pedido. En Sarajevo, tendrá un traslado a su lugar de entrega.

This was the highlight of my trip to Bosnia! Beautiful scenery, great food and our guide was awesome.
We went as a family of 8. Mum, Dad and 6 grown children aged between 16-22. Our guide was Shaheen. Communication was great and we were collected from our apartment. We then met with another guide, Ahmad who had another 10 people as part of the group trek. Although we often hike in the UK, this trek was something else. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The children all kept up with the group really well but mum and dad struggled to keep up as there is quite a lot of uphill walking that is very strenuous. Shaheen was very patient and often came back for moral support and to guide us back to the group. The traditional Bosnian lunch at the village at the top was lovely & the platter of food was perfect - a chance to try different bosnian foods. There is also a toilet (squat) outside the restaurant. There is also a village masjid to pray at. Over all a really wonderful experience and a highlight of our stay in Sarajevo. A special thanks to Shaheen for his patience and interesting conversations. We truly slept like babies that night 😂
The tour was fantastic!! Kudos and many thanks to our wonderful guide Ahmed!! He was is outgoing and helpful as our driver and guide, giving lots of insight, advice and recommendations throughout the hike! He kept us safe throughout and I truly appreciate his passion for the outdoors! The locals at Lukomir Village are also the sweetest and kindest people! This is an amazing excursion right outside of Sarajevo to see one of the most remote villages in Bosnia. Our guide, Adi, was incredible and helped us out so much. He came prepared with everything— facts, hiking poles, snacks, even a pair of socks for me when mine kept slipping off my ankles, saving me some blisters! The hike itself was moderate difficulty and long, but plenty of breaks were provided as needed. Plus, the village and lunch are at the half way point! Highly recommend this unique experience! Even I, who am scared of heights, made it okay :)
The tour was very well organised and on the day this was executed faultlessly. The journey to Srebrenica was already filled with an emotional feeling and the journey was narrated beautifully by our guide Agan. He explained the political backdrop of the country simply and clearly and also talked of his personal experience during the war which made us all feel privileged to have someone who could describe the impossible situation the people of Bosnia faced. We were all very moved and would highly recommend this trip. If you are lucky, you may even be fortunate enough to have Agan as your tour guide!
There were 8 people on my tour and this hike was by far my favourite thing I did while in Bosnia. My tour guide was Adi, and he was a great leader of the hike, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to about anything. He was also very patient with the varying levels of hiking experience on our group. I would highly recommend this tour, it is not one to miss!

Excellent hiking tour from Sarajevo to picturesque village Lukomir on the mountain Bjelašnica. It was very easy to book it directly with Meet Bosnia agency. Our tour guide, Ahmed, was fantastic. I would highly recommend this tour for all that like nature and hiking.
We absolutely loved this tour. We had a group of 16 with two wonderful guides, Ahmed and Christian. The scenery and wildflowers were stunning! I highly recommend this as it was one of the most fun and memorable hikes of my life! My tips: bring plenty of water and some snacks. You can refill your water at the village The trail is uneven in many areas so wear decent shoes The trail is not technical, but it’s not easy either. Out of our group of 16, 1 decided not to go soon after we started and 2 got a ride down from the top from a villager. They can’t guarantee rides, though, so you have to be prepared to do the whole 10 miles
