Trip happened: January 3rd 2026 Booking reference: GYGZGZ82L6YX I’m giving this tour a low rating due to serious logistics issues. The original plan was to depart Milan at 07:15, have a short stop in Tirano (45 min), then take the Bernina train up to St. Moritz, where we were supposed to have about 1.5h, followed by a bus back. Also we supposed to have short 15 minutes brake on the way. Instead, the itinerary was reversed and changed. We were warned this might happen, but in reality it turned out very poorly organized. They wrote a day before in Email that we are supposed to start 15 minutes EARLIER "arrive at pickup point at 6:45". Then we did had 15 minutes brake at some gas station which were extremely packed with people! We barely had time to buy coffee and drink it on the way cause "eating inside the bus is prohibited". Then the tour guide said "we wasted too much time" ...? In St. Moritz we had barely 45 minutes total(!), including time needed to get ON the train, which is essentially NO TIME at all. Meanwhile, we spent more than 1.5 hours in Tirano, where it was unclear what we were supposed to do for so long. On the way to St. Moritz, the guide told us a lot details about the train, but managed to miss almost all the details about how to board it. When the train arrived, there was complete chaos. It turned out that some carriages weren't suitable for us because they had some kind of stickers on them, and other carriages with the number 2 (our class) weren't suitable either, for some unknown reason. We had to run around the platform, trying to get into a carriage at random and hoping we wouldn't get kicked out. (Incidentally, because of this, we weren't able to get seats on the best side even we arrived 15 minutes before train did to the station!) The final straw was the bus pickup in Tirano: the driver was late for an undefined amount of time, supposedly due to traffic. This explanation didn’t make sense, as the drive from St. Moritz to Tirano is about 1.5 hours and there were no visible traffic issues. (BTW i believe we spotted our bus on the way to Tirano chilling on the gas station parking, maybe someone should spend time riding the bus?) In the end, we gave up and returned to Milan by train at our expense. At this price point, this tour doesn’t make sense, cause we pay 2 times the prices for logistics.
I am leaving this review as a guide myself. A very thorough and licensed guide with years of experience and I train guides as well. Vivian or Vivienne is the best I have ever experienced. She’s amazing, warm, friendly, personable. Speaks at least 4 languages, English, Italian, French and Spanish. You’ll clearly know she loves her job, she’s a natural. And the driver was amazing About the sights I can’t even express the feeling it was breathtaking Group management, clear instructions and excellent tour. I decided to take a break from guiding in Paris for my birthday and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Unfortunately I couldn’t tip her as I didn’t have cash. She deserves a raise. If the company can send me a link to send her a tip I really want to appreciate the amazing job she did shuffling between languages. And making sure everyone was happy for 11 hours straight. She’s the absolute best.
The tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable and helpful. Also the bus driver was professional ti drive in suchlike challenging roads. The train and the views were absolutely incredible. Paradise.
