You do not get very close at all. Everest is seen from a great distance. The left side of the plane had better views on the approach and stewardesses told them about each section. Right side of the plane on the turnaround had very little time to see everest and nothing was pointed out. Also for my seat the window was halfway between me and the person in front of me and she hogged the window the whole time. And the window was very scratched up and difficult to get a picture through.
I had the itinerary prepared and gave it for land travel and hotel booking to a kochi agency, which was done by Sarita Holidays, Nepal. All the to & fro flight bookings including our Everest ride and ktm to pok travel was booked by ourselves. We met our guide Mr Pranav @ KTM & he was good in his work with a story telling ability. He briefed us before every visit & was helpful. Our Pokara trip had another guide and he was ok . The trip @ Pokara needed vehicle change and had to be rough with our guide to get it done. The stay was moderate in KTM ( Hotel wood apple)as the location was in a narrow road. Food @ hotel was good. Deluxe room lacked hot water in wash basin. Pokhara stay @ Hotel Kausi was good as it was a lakeside hotel, but hotel lacked ambience and services. BF Buffet was not upto the mark and refilling took time. Pashupathinath temple is divine, Buddha stupa is an art, Everest ride was not done as fog masked runway.Annapoorna range view was superb esp in cable car. Lake view and Gupteshwar cave with Devis fall was good . Bindyabashini temple made us witness a nepali marriage too. Our return stay @ KTM and visit to Swayambhunath stupa and Durbar square ended our Nepal trip with good memories.
It was the best experience of my life. The mountain flight and cable car brought me to some of the most amazing views I have ever seen. The guide was perfect. I'm very lucky to have great weather.

Flying near Mt Everest was an experience of a lifetime. My driver picked me up at my hotel, walked me through the airline process at the airport, and was waiting for me after the flight. Everything went smoothly and was much enjoyed!
He was put on a bus early on and ordered to stand by. He is put on a plane, but he is dropped off at the airport to get on a different plane. I have to wait in the bus again. When I finally get on the plane, the windows are just dirty. You can't see the view from the window without filtering dirt. There's not much explanation for what Everest I wanted to see. He ended with, "Which is Everest?" And he said, "It's already passed." You look at the mountains and you say, "That's Everest!" It's better not to unless you know that. It's such a waste of a large flight fee.
I had the perfect weather to this mountain flight of 60min. The flight would lead along the montain range. Everybody has a window seat . So 30min one side will have the best views and on return the other side will have the Mountain View. Hotel pick up and drop off was fine and on time. Yeti Airlines was involved. First long lines to pick up the boarding card. When I get to the agent he said I should use a different line as the LC is broken. And that was 10min prior to departure. I complaint and

Pickup and drop off at the hotel was punctual and very good. A bit hectic at the airport. Long line at the check in counter with broken computers. 5minutes before boarding I rushed through security and of course they had started boarding already. The flight a long the mountain range is good. Everybody had a Ei die Seat. So 30 min one side will have a good view and on the way back the other side. We had perfect weather. No clouds at all. The only bad thing I have to complain about were the really dirty windows. I looked out if the window and it was like looking through some mist all the time. Not good for photos
Great way to see the Himalayas and especially Mt Everest up close. Staff were helpful in pointing out different mountains.

Beautiful sights. Flight was good. If you have time do one of the tours to base camp. Easy to get to the plane area.
