Excellent Guide for a Fun Tour

We apologize for not remembering her name, but our driver/guide attended Hollywood High School and she was excellent. She interacted with every member of the group and she knew her subject matter without it sounding like a canned speech. She also did whatever she could to assist those of us with mobility issues. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and highly recommend it to everyone and as a self-planned cruise ship excursion.

Best way to see a lot of Portland in a little time!!

Our cruise was only in Portland for barely a half day, so it was a challenge to find a way to see as much as we could in such a short time…this ended up being an ideal solution; we got to see way more of the city than we could just walking around, AND got out to the Portland Head Light House, which I had really wanted to visit - and it was so worth the visit!! The trolley ride was fun too (get there early if you want a nice window seat), with the lovely breezes through the open air windows! We had a great tour guide/driver too, a local guy who also writes novels, ha. My family members and I all had a fabulous time, and I would especially recommend it to cruise passengers pressed for time!!

Better by land.

Better than the duck boat. More info. You see so much more. Tour guide was great. Thank you. Enjoy the lighthouses and the architecture of the city.

Portland by a Texan

Good brief highlights of soooo much to see and know about Portland. Our guide was full of facts and because he’s from the area, full of fun neighborhood trivia.

Our young Guide (from Kansas!) was the best part!

I’ve been hoping I’d have the opportunity to review this tour – it was superb. There were a modest number of us riding on a trolley, wending our way through the streets of Portland – not only the Old Port, but all around the Peninsula. We also went over the bridge to South Portland, and then on to Cape Elizabeth and the Portland Head lighthouse. Our guide (I believe her name was Eleanor) was incredibly knowledgeable – I’d say encyclopedic – in being able to speak about everything from history to architecture to the lifecycle of the lobster! She was marvelous, and the best thing about the tour. Being a first time visitor, it was a marvelous introduction to a charming and historic city.

Needed more time at lighthouse

We enjoyed this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable. The stop at the lighthouse was just enough time to get out and take a picture. I wish that the balance would have been more evenly split with city drive and time at the lighthouse to walk the paths and see more of the beautiful scenery.
