We booked a private 8 hour tour on a Sunday and the itinerary Epic came up with: 09.00am pickup from Lautoka Port Visit Viseisei Village Visit Garden of the Sleeping Giant Visit Namaka Fruit Market Denarau Shopping & Lunch Nadi Temple Hike at Sigatoka Sand Dunes Stopover at Natadola Beach for Swim Dropoff at Fiji Gateway Rate: FJD$575.00 (Private Tour for both including entry fees/ bottle water) Turned out Epic planned an 8 hour itinerary that is impossible to complete in 8 hours. The pick-up was 40 minute late, nobody contacted us to notify us about the delay. When a representative eventually showed up, we were put in the wrong car. The village was closed on Sundays, so we could not visit. Why did they put the village visit on the itinerary for a Sunday tour if it is closed on Sundays? We visited the fruit marked for less than 5 min on our own accord. We got 25 min in Nadi Hindu temple, but finished in 15 min on our own accord. In Sigitoka Sand Dunes we were told we could not walk the trail that included the sand dunes, because there was not enough time. We were told to do a much shorter hike. When we insisted on doing the red hiking trail that included the sand dunes and beach, we were told that would take more than one hour. We finished in 40 min without even rushing. We were told we could not swim at Natadola Beach because the driver did not want the car seats to be wet and there was no place to change into dry clothes at the beach. Then why did they put swim at Natadola beach at the itinerary? We spent 15 min at Denarau and skipped lunch at our own accord. We got one hour at Garden of the Sleeping Giant, but finished in 40 minutes. The driver was not informed that entry fees were included in the price and had to stop by the office to collect money for entry fees. There was some distance to drive between all activities, and if we had visited all activities and had lunch as planned we would not have made it in 8 hours. We were asked if we could give a positive rating as their livelihood depended on it. Seriously? This was av extremely poorly organized tour. The only positive thing is that our driver took us to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant in the afternoon when there was almost no crowd left.
Bula TheTopsyTraveller, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your private tour experience did not meet the expectations we aim to provide. We have carefully reviewed your comments and acknowledge the concerns raised regarding the itinerary planning, communication, timing, and coordination of the tour. We agree that the itinerary provided was too ambitious for the allocated 8-hour timeframe, and we should have managed the expectations and timing more effectively. We also apologize for the late pickup, the lack of communication regarding the delay, and the confusion regarding the vehicle and entry fees. These are not the standards we expect from our team, and we will be addressing these matters internally with the operations team and driver to ensure better preparation and coordination moving forward. Regarding the Sunday itinerary, we acknowledge that Viseisei Village is not available for visits on Sundays, and this should have been considered when designing the tour program. We also understand your disappointment regarding the Sigatoka Sand Dunes hike and Natadola Beach swim, as these were included in the agreed itinerary and should have been properly discussed and managed before the tour commenced. We appreciate that you highlighted the positive aspects, including your driver taking you to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant at a quieter time. However, we understand that this does not outweigh the overall shortcomings of the experience. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused. Your feedback is valuable and will help us improve our tour planning process, itinerary development, and guest communication to ensure future guests receive the high level of service that Epic Transfers & Tours Fiji strives to deliver. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Vinaka Vakalevu, Epic Team Fiji
Ace was an excellent host, tour guide, and airport transfer person. He went out of his way to make us feel at home, and offered a very interesting half day excursion. We went up to the Highlands with great views, and also to the botanical garden. Both are highly recommended.
Bula Bridee405, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a great experience with Ace. It’s fantastic to know he made you feel at home and provided excellent service as both your transfer driver and guide. The Highlands and botanical garden are truly special spots, and we’re glad you enjoyed the views and excursion. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again for another memorable experience in Fiji! Warm regards, Epic Team Fiji
Enjoyable day spent sightseeing with our driver Junior Ali. Very knowledgeable and punctual . Highly recommend this tour
Small tour of myself and Auntie. Went to Sigatoka and went to lookout and market, Then off to small village where they made pottery that could be purchased. Ladies in village sang and danced and we did a lava ceremony, village people lovely and got us involved in dancing. Then we went to famous golf course and Natadola beach, Aling the way we stopped of for a coco nut water tasting. Great tour with Ali. Would book again with him for next Fiji visit,
Natadola beach is lovely. A bit less being hassled to buy stuff would have been appreciated. Sellers are very pushy.
There was just my husband and I on the tour, hosted by Kasim who did a brilliant job taking us to all the stops including Lawai Pottery Village, Sigatoka, Natadola beach plus more. He shared stories and facts about Fiji making it the most interesting day.
