Sigiriya Rock Fortress the 8th Wonder of the World es considerado como un lugar que no debe perderse nadie que visite esta hermosa isla. Pidurangala rock otro lugar histórico ubicado junto a Sigirya y se ha convertido en un lugar de tendencia tanto entre locales como extranjeros. El Templo de la Cueva de Dambulla es conocido como uno de los templos de roca más antiguos y más grandes del mundo. El Safari en el Parque Nacional Minneriya hará que su viaje sea completo. Este viaje fuera de carretera de 03 horas le permitirá ver cientos de elefantes en su comportamiento natural en su propio lugar. El recorrido en un pueblo tradicional es otro elemento interesante que puede agregar para el día. Estos lugares clave se encuentran muy cerca. Situado en el distrito de Matale, provincia central de Sri Lanka, situado a 148 km (92 millas) al noreste de Colombo y 72 km (45 millas) al norte de Kandy.

The trip was excellent!!! Everything was on time! I had two drivers on this trip. They both were REALLY nice. The first guy had to leave and I ended up spending the bigger half of the trip with Amila Madushan. I honestly couldn’t wish for a better companion! We talked the entire trip (it was about 4 hours just the way back). Amila was by my side the whole time and did way more what he was hired to do! I think this employee is a great asset for the company. I personally would recommend Amila and his company to anyone!

Ingika is a professional driver. He is kind and friendly and caring. The tour was only two of us, so we were relaxed through the whole day. We really enjoyed the all day travel with him.
It was booked the day before and had clear communication from the tour operator. We had some flexibility with how we wanted to do the tour and what we wanted to do. I'd recommend doing Sigiriya rock early morning or later in the day and not at midday due to the heat. Having lunch included was very good and the food was nice. We had a tour guide for Sigiriya rock which made it better. Thank you to our driver Pathum for some insight on this tour and being quite helpful :) It's a long day of driving but worth it if you cannot stay in Sigiriya or it's surrounding area.
We did several daytrips form Colombo and this trip was the highlight. From 2500 years old wall paintings Dambulla monastery, to safari and meet wild elephants and the amazing Sigriya (Lion Rock) . Our super knowledgeable guide and driver Pradeep made this tour an unforgettable experience for me and my wife. This tour is highly recommended. Live and Lasse from Norway .

I booked the trip from Kandy via Booking.com which was easy. Geesara of Mahaweli Tours operated the trip & was in touch a couple of times beforehand, which was a nice touch. Amila was the guide who was very attentive, cheerful and helpful throughout the day. The day was excellent, with the cave temple, then Sigiriya followed by a safari. The trip to the top of Sigiriya was fantastic, though a tough walk up. Definitively worth the effort. The driver Mahaweli uses for the safari was very knowledgeable and had worked with elephants before. There were a lot of 4x4’s doing the same thing which was a shame, but our guides made up for it. By far the best value trip I have ever had, and lasted 15hrs from start to finish!
My friend and I did this tour with our driver, Sarath, who was amazing! He safely got us from each excursion and communication with him and the tour operators were very smooth. We loved Sigiriya, Dambulla, the lunch spot, and the elephant safari. It was a very long day (arrived back to the hotel at 9:30pm) but wouldn’t change a thing. If you only have one day, highly recommend this tour!!
Nice and easygoing communication with our coordinator - Geesara. He organized great trips and transfers for us to Dambulla, Sigiriya, Kegalle, the Elephant Orphanage, and Balapitiya. One of our drivers (Indika) was really careful, supportive, and nice! I highly recommend Mahaweli Tours for private tours around the island - they are supportive, experienced, and offer excellent service at reasonable prices!
Visiting 3 sites from Colombo, - golden temple - sigiriya rocks - Minneriya national park All so good. Nothing waste any of moments by driver Sarath and coordinator Geesara. Must those events when u visit Colombo for sure. Will be coming again to climb up 2 rocks next time.
