Powerful but hard to navigate and absorb

I went in expecting a heavy visit, and it was, but I left feeling a bit disappointed by how the museum is put together. The photos and the outdoor aircraft display were genuinely striking, and a few of the exhibits hit hard. But the layout felt cramped and repetitive, with not enough context in places. It was also very crowded and stuffy, and I kept getting nudged along in rooms that were hard to really take in. I think an audio guide or clearer explanations would make a big difference. Worth seeing for the historic material, but it could be much better organized.

Horrible but important.

Reflects on the atrocities of the Americans and the South Vietnamese torture of political prisoners during the Vietnam War. A cruel and nauseous experience, but still such an important part of Vietnam’s history that it becomes a must visit to this museum.

Misérable experience

Other than a few outdoor exhibits in the sun, this museum is room after room of non air conditioned displays of photos. Who can be pleased watching photos in 35c degree heat full of sweating people around you. This was a most miserable experience and whatever message the Vietnamese authorities wanted me to learn was totally wasted. This whole museum need to be modernized with technologies and more interesting displays.

Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong River - A Must-Experience

It was a good experience. The Cu Chi Tunnels tour was better way to understand how the Vietnamese overcame the hardships of war. The Mekong River Delta tour showed how simple lives of Vietnamese people can still make them survive well

Worth it

Informative and well laid out. Worth knowing the history before going to cu chi tunnel. 3 floor plus the outside setup was good to get an idea of what the country dealt with

Sent shivers

This is a lovely trip, granted a bit long, but worth every minuet stuck in traffic. Did not take too long to get to the tunnels, a short stop and a art studio was lovely. The tunnels, it was an odd feeling, being as I went to the war museum before, then the tunnels it out things into perspective, and actually I would recommend doing this way round, museum - tunnels - Delta. If you are in anyway afraid of small spaces DO NOT do the tunnels, they are very small, and if you have a bad back, also think about it. It was a weird eire feeling, what it must have been like for the Vietnamese people. The Delta was amazing, if your shy about food, then be aware they bring an entire fish to the table! Or, there was on my trip. a quiet paddle up the delta, with no noise aside that of the paddle splashing....it was very tranquil. Saw how coconut Sweets were made (very yummy) drank honey tea (very yummy) and enjoyed the local style of music. The whole trip was pleasant from start to finish, even the 2 hour drive back docent seem too bad.....If a little bumpy! I highly recommend this trip.

Good Day in Saigon

Enjoyed both Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Trips. A bit hot, so we were glad Tunnels were done in the morning.

Me Kong River & Cu Chi Tunnels

Two excellent trips, highly recommended. I’m a bit of a cultural desert but was fascinated by both trips. Good to hear the Vietnam point of view rather than the USA/Western view on the war. A must visit when in Vietnam!
