This is an essential trip to take after you have been to the War Memories Museum to see how life was lived and fought in the countryside. It is also a good tour because you go to the less touristy and more original tunnels. Manh was an excellent guide, giving us the full background to the war and life for the local people, and also life today. A highly recommended day

Today, my girlfriend and I went to visit the Cu Chi tunnels near Saigon. At around 8 am we were picked up by our guide Luân (Ethan). On our way to the site, he told us a lot about the past of Vietnam, including both the French colonisation and Vietnam War, and the impact it had on the country. We made a short stop at a factory, where people affected by Agent Orange (a chemical used in the Vietnam War) made all kinds of art made from wood. Very insightful to see! After that, we had a one hour drive towards the tunnels. Here, he guided us through some parts of the tunnels, and told us about the life of the Vietcong soldiers who lived there. We learned a lot about the hard circumstances they had to live in. We then went on and had a very nice lunch near the river, and after that, we went on towards the liberated area. We closed our tour by visiting the monument honouring 45.000 fallen soldiers, and went back to our hotel. Ethan (and also our driver) is a very friendly guide who knows a lot about these historical sites. Would definitely recommend booking a tour with him!
Xin chao! Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We are truly delighted to hear that you and your girlfriend had such a meaningful and educational experience exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels and Liberated Area with Ethan (Luan). We are especially happy that his historical knowledge, storytelling, and friendly personality helped bring Vietnam’s history to life throughout the journey. It’s wonderful to know that the stops along the way, including the lacquer workshop and memorial sites, added even more depth and understanding to your experience. Your recommendation truly means a lot to both Ethan and our entire team. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back to Vietnam again in the future! Asiana Link Team.
This is a trip not to miss - it was a history lesson and an exploration of the horrors of war. The guide - Nam - was very helpful and knew a lot. I think everyone who thinks war is the solution to problems should be made to go here… it was interesting and alarming at the same,e time to see how the resistance soldiers lived and fought back. Logistically, the trip was well organised, lots of communications before the trip, pickup was on time, as was drop off. There was also a short stopover at a lacquer factory/shop was a great way to buy souvenirs while supporting those who had been disabled by poisons unleashed during the war.
Xin chao! Thank you very much for your thoughtful and meaningful review. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience visiting the Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels with us. We are very happy to hear that Nam helped make the tour both educational and memorable through his knowledge and helpfulness. The Cu Chi Tunnels are indeed a powerful place to better understand the realities and impact of war, and we are glad the experience left such a deep impression on you. We also appreciate your kind comments about the organization and communication before the trip, as well as the meaningful stop at the lacquer workshop supporting those affected by the war. Thank you once again for your support, and we hope to welcome you back to Vietnam in the future. Asiana Link Team.
If you’re planning to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, ask for Barney — seriously. He didn’t just guide the tour, he made sure I experienced it. From breaking down the history and sharing powerful stories, to explaining the culture in a way that really sticks with you — it all felt so real and eye-opening. He was incredibly attentive, making sure I felt safe and comfortable going into the underground tunnels (which is an experience on its own 😅). He made sure I didn’t miss a single detail — every corner, every story, every moment. And honestly, one of the best parts? He was always ready to snap a photo or take a video, making sure I captured every bit of the experience without even having to ask. What made it even better? He took me to a small local coffee spot where I got to try the iconic Vietnamese condensed milk coffee — and wow, it was next level. On top of that, he shared great tips for shopping and hidden gems around Ho Chi Minh City, which just made the whole experience even more valuable. Hands down, one of the best guides I’ve ever had. Barney, you made this unforgettable 🙌🏽
