WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. This was one of the worst experiences we’ve had in New York. We were quoted one price and then charged more without any explanation. The staff told us the bus to the ferry was leaving immediately and made us rush over, even after we explained that we had a reservation to get to. We then ended up waiting 40–60 minutes while staff repeatedly told us, “it’s coming,” without giving us any useful information. When it became clear we were going to miss our reservation, we asked for a refund. Instead of helping, the staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. One worker was literally screaming at us from across the street, and several others were dismissive and unhelpful. We were repeatedly told they couldn’t contact someone named Victor, so they couldn’t process a refund, which was completely unacceptable. In the end, we paid more than we were supposed to, missed our reservation, and never even got on the ferry. We now have to go through our bank to try to get our money back because we were charged for a service we never even received. The customer service was appalling, and the entire experience felt dishonest and disorganized. Avoid this company at all costs. Do not waste your time or money. Please avoid!

Find another cruise

I highly recommend you find a different sightseeing cruise for the Statue of Liberty. We were scheduled for a 3:30 Statue of Liberty cruise, and the voucher mentioned they wanted everyone to arrive by 3:00. We arrived at 2:30 to a line of people waiting in 100-plus-degree heat. There were people for TWO cruises waiting to board--the 3:30 and the 4 pm Tall Ships cruise. No one was available to tell any of us what line we should be in or what boat we would be on. As more and more people arrived, more and more people were coming off the boats....it was chaos. One worker came out and told us all to stand against the wall, but that didn't work. Shortly after, two men came by and checked our tickets. I thought this was great because it would expedite our embarkation, but boy was I wrong. Even though tickets had been scanned, people came up and cut in line. They allowed this to happen! There was a huge clump at the beginning of the line that skipped those of us who had been waiting for an hour plus. Still, confusion about who belonged where for what cruise. Meanwhile, they start letting people on and the line is moving--finally at 4 pm.. All of a sudden it stops. A worker starts yelling, and I mean screaming, at us all, telling those of us at the beginning of the line he won't let us on unless we are in a straight line. Imagine......trying to get 150 people plus from the beginning of the line...one voice...trying to get the line to move back enough to be "single file" My daughter has epilepsy. Twice I asked for help getting her on board up the rolling gangplank and TWICE I was ignored. As I mentioned, it was 100-plus degrees, so those of us who have been in line for an hour are dying of thirst. We get on the boat, and I go down to the snack/beverage bar. I ask for water, and I am completely ignored. After five minutes...she finally acknowledges me. They don't have the chips they are supposed to have, the soda they are supposed to have...canned water, which was the most disgusting thing I have ever drank....But I had no choice. We finally get out of the port, and the Captain seems nice, but he is making excuses for what we have all endured. He gives us some background bout the East River and what is going on. We finally get to the Statue of Liberty, and it's a 10-minute viewing from afar. Use another cruise line....this one sucks.

Avoid this shambles - deserves no star rating

If there was a zero option that would be my rating😡 Don’t give this shambolic company your money😡 We were intercepted by Liberty a licensed street vendor as we approached Battery Park, and sold what sounded a really good cruise at an inflated price😡. We were bundled onto a coach and dropped opposite the pier across a very busy road. The pier was scruffy and a rude employee made us line up against a wall, where, in around 95f, we had to wait for over a hour for the boat. Nowhere to buy a drink or sit. The boat was scruffy, unkempt and the toilets were disgusting. Too many people onboard and very little space on the outside deck to get good photos. The Captain was unbearable, and just spouted over a very poor tannoy system. He had the cheek to ask for tips and said if people didn’t he would still be there tomorrow but we wouldn’t, that would have been my worst nightmare! No one was allowed off the boat until the Captain made his way to the end of the walk way with his tip box. At the start of the cruise he was walking around the boat with a wad of notes, which looked like tips from the previous trip. All in all, a terrible customer experience this company need to really up their game and give customers value for money! This was our last day in NY and the only bad experience. Don’t give this shambles of a company your hard earned cash, we felt totally ripped off😡

Cruise itself was great

Extremely disorganized. Had no lines, no markings on lines, no signs to say where to stand, etc. All the guys working were great, but it was awful getting into the cruise.

Plan accordingly

The street vendors lie to you. Said it would be 1.5 hours. It took us 4 hours. Didn’t show us Ellis Island. They sell you a time but don’t tell you what time you need to be there. We were at 1. Didn’t even leave for the boat until 2. Everyone on this trip was irritated. The actual boat ride was nice. But to be on top with seats was considered VIP and you had to pay another $40.

Scammers!

Beware- We can't say it enough. Even the cab driver that brought us there was part of the Scam! He dropped us off near these guys all in red vests. The cab driver said see the guys in red vests. We saw them all right, they charged $188.97 for 3 people to go on a boat where they don't even let you go onto Ellis Island. Little did we know, they didn't tell us that the ferry only cruises around the island. We waited in line to go on a bus with 100's of people, this is what good scammers they are. All these people thought they were going onto the island. After a while people started talking in line saying out loud to each other I think we got scammed. After waiting in line for over an hour to get on a bus that took us all across town to get on the ferry. We were only in NYC for 3 days and wasted precious time. This was so disappointing, because this was one of the reasons that we did visit NYC. We found out too late that the only original tour is actually run by Statue City Cruises - if only we knew.

Avoid at all costs!

Please please avoid! Bought tickets for 1pm 1hour sightseeing tour -Ushered to a queue for a coach transfer -Waited for over 45 mins before getting on a coach - asked one of guys who actually shushed me - then told we could only get on 4pm trip which we can't do due to other plans - spoke to lady who told us she was only there to greet people Paid over 65 dollars each. No sightseeing trip I did not even trust the trip would leave at 4pm Lots of people around us complaining and unhappy. An older lady and kids included. Shame on them! Not the best way to spend our final afternoon in NY. An absolute con. We did not even get on the boat but considering the lies told I would also worry what safety measures are taken. I hope this review helps to warn other travellers.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

We were walking to the Staten Island ferry when we were approached by a man, selling us the dream for this sight seeing boat tour. Usually we don’t fall for this kind of thing but nothing seemed weird about it but little did we know… Firstly we were told $40 each but when we paid it had came through as $110 for two. We then were told the boat would be at 12:30pm and to queue for the bus to get to the boat which was around a 20-25 minute journey. Once we got to pier/port we were told to walk into the building and wait on the right so we followed what we were told to do. It got to around 12:30pm and we were starting to question where the boat was and so were others also waiting for this boat. It then got to around 1pm and still no sign of the boat, so we then spoke to a staff member questioning why the boat had still not arrived. We were then told the boat was going to be at 1:30pm which was another red flag. We then decided to check the reviews on here and saw how bad reviews there were so we then decided to not go on this boat tour as we had seen the reviews. Many reviews saying too many people on the boat, horrible staff, boat not going exactly where you get told it does and how the whole thing is a scam. We have now had to request a refund through our bank as we had paid card, if we had paid cash we could of had a refund there and then. Please whatever you do, DO NOT GO ON THIS BOAT TOUR!!! IT IS A TOURIST TRAP!!!!

Do not use!!

This company is really good at scamming! They stopped us outside the park and claimed they worked for the actual park service. Promised us a tour of 10 different sites. Took us to the shuttle to wait 5 minutes but the wait was over an hour. Got to the boat, floated out to the Statute of Liberty where we had to use the zoom feature to even get a picture, then straight back to the dock. PLEASE don't book with this company if you want a real Statue and Ellis Island experience. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!

Liberty tours is a scam!

Absolute scam. Do not buy tickets from the people in blue vests outside Staten Island Ferry. Lied to us about so many things - did not mention 30 minute bus ride - told us we would make the 12.30 ferry when we bought tickets at 12.20! Didn’t even arrive in time for 1pm ferry. So when we arrived at the port we just got a taxi straight back. Waste of time and money and ruined the last day of our trip.
