This was a once in a lifetime experience! I loved every minute. On the dock, they were easy to find and our guide, Derek was funny and engaging. On board, Jo Ann and Carol gave us interesting information about the natural environment. I loved that they spared us a non-stop prepared speech and tour. They let us use our eyes and mind to experience the beauty of the water. They let us guide the discussion with questions and used teachable moments and their vast experience to instruct. Jo Ann is the best guide! Her delightful giggle is on our treasured videos of the orcas, proving that these amazing creatures still inspire joy and wonder, no matter how many times you encounter them. We saw the orca go belly up under the boat, saw a “pink wand” on a hormonal teen orca playing with a partner, and the most beautiful rainbow and sunset. They had plenty of gloves and hats that are clean and available on the boat for your comfort, but it was not too cold in July. It is worth every penny. This was a comfortable way to experience the most incredible creatures on earth!
The tour was excellent. We were given everything needed to enjoy the boat ride. The staff consisted of very knowledgeable naturalists Tilly and Caroline as well as the photographer Liam and a great Captian whose name we dont remember regrettably. We saw many marine mammals and learned a lot about them, we could ask endless questions and receive wise replies. We kept a respectful distance from the animasl and had a chance to move around the boat and even use binoculars!
Thank you! Loved hearing how curious and engaged you were the whole trip...endless questions and all. We're glad the crew could keep up with you, and we'd love to have you back on board again! All the best, Tianda
Carol, Tilly, James and Captain Pete were an excellent crew. We navigated to Lopez islands and saw 3 humpback whales on the way. Orcas island offered us 3 orcas. What a treat to see a male and 2 females. The crew was very knowledgeable and super sweet about everyone being comfortable. It’s a long boat ride but the landscape makes it unforgettable. We had an excellent time!
Thank you for the wonderful review! We're so glad your crew made you feel comfortable throughout the journey, and that the scenery added to the experience. It's always a treat when a longer route pays off with sightings like that. Hope to have you back aboard again soon! All the best, Tianda
Wow wow wow, incredible first experience whale watching! I am local to Victoria and have always wanted to go on one of these tours but wasn't sure if it would be worth it. Let me tell you, if you are considering going, you must go with Eagle Wing! They commit to 1% to the Planet (an incredible organization that helps for-profit companies dedicate 1% of their earnings to charity), contribute to conservation efforts and local education. Our crew was Captain Pete, Carol, Liam, and Tilly, all of which were so helpful and informative, and most of all, in wonder about the whales just as much as we were. We saw humpbacks and killer whales, sea otters, a sea lion, and had the most beautiful sunset views. The company also provided warm jackets, hats, gloves, pants, and sunscreen. They even gave us hot chocolate when we got back. 10/10 experience, do not sleep on this!
Thank you for such an enthusiastic review! We're so glad we could show you what Victoria's waters have to offer, from the whales to the sunset views. It means a lot that our conservation commitment came through too — that's a big part of who we are. Hope to have you out with us again soon! All the best, Tianda
My New Brunswick friend and I had a most enjoyable time with Eagle Wing Whale watching. We felt safe with Capt Pete and the very engaged and knowledgeable staff...at this writing I do not recall their names but we were impressed. Lots of safety measures and whale sightings for a memorable evening. And one can arrive early to have something to eat at one of the many restaurants at Fisherman's Wharf!
Thank you for joining us, and for making the trip all the way from New Brunswick! We're so glad you and your friend felt well looked after by our crew, and that the safety measures stood out to you. Fisherman's Wharf is a great spot to grab a bite before or after a tour, glad you got to enjoy it. Hope to welcome you both back aboard sometime! All the best, Tianda
Great experience, the boat was very comfortable and all the crew were very kind with us.
Thank you! So glad the boat felt comfortable and the crew's kindness stood out. We'd love to welcome you back again. All the best, Tianda
A conscious company and conscientious crew lived their values and gave a lot of value. I had a fantastic experience on the water, with the whales and stellar sea lions, and the crew. Derek, Captain Trev, Hana and Emma made sure everyone was safe, comfortable, and aware of the animals and surroundings so we could really take it all in. They even provided a map of the area covered (quite extensive!), pictures of the Orca family we saw with their names, and even took pictures to send us for download. All above and beyond, and ended with a beautiful sunset. Left with a heart full of love and gratitude. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience! So glad to hear you had an amazing day of sightings, and that you enjoyed the photos! Heart full of love and gratitude, right back at you! All the best, Tianda
Fantastic trip! Loved seeing the orcas (and a few humpbacks) on the sunset tour and they equipped us with heavy jackets, hats and gloves to keep us toasty. The guides are engaging teachers who are genuinely passionate ad knowledgeable about whales. Special thanks to Liam, Lili, and Ryleigh and Captain Trev!
Thank you! A sunset tour with orcas and humpbacks sounds like a magical combination, and we're so glad the warm gear kept you cozy! We'd love to welcome you back again. All the best, Tianda
Thank you for a fantastic whale watch! Our guides were so informative, especially Carol, and shared a fantastic amount of information about the family of orcas we saw. A 11/10 experience for anyone looking to see orcas in Victoria!
Thank you! So glad the crew's knowledge added so much to seeing that orca family up close. An 11/10 day is exactly what we love to hear! We'd love to welcome you back to Victoria again. All the best, Tianda
Team was excellent- safety was a priority, educational, we saw Orcas! They clearly love what they do and want to share with their customers. We booked same day (in town by cruise ship) and loved the experience!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! So glad that you saw whales and found the tour informative as well. We hope to welcome you back someday! All the best, Tianda
