Excellent tour and sailing. Great crew, good lunch and a lot of history and swimming. The day requires reasonable heath and mobility.
This was a perfect way to see Delos. The ruins themselves were fantastic, but the voyage really made the day special. The boat was comfortable, and the crew were incredibly helpful, engaging, and hospitable — they worked well together to make sure every passenger was enjoying the day. The food was delicious and generous. A fantastic family experience that we highly recommend.
Excellent service by the crew, comfortable seating, fantastic food. Delos was a great experience, definitely worth it, and Rina's beach was beautiful.
The tour was great from start to finish. The crew is friendly and welcoming, and the passengers who took the ride with us as well. Great experience, great stops for diving, great food! I recommend 100%!
The crew were incredibly friendly. It's important to note that if you are easily motion sick then this is not the tour for you. The water is extremely choppy and it's about 45 mins-1 hour to the first stop. The option to explore Delos was so cool! You have the option to stay on the boat and go to a swimming location but 1) the water is absolutely freezing and 2) Delos is such a unique place so I really recommend paying the money to explore. The next stop is a swimming location where it was slightly less windy but not many people swam because the water is so cold. The food served was soooo good! It took awhile to prepare so have a bigger breakfast but it was delicious and absolutely worth the wait.
This is a 2-part review…. the Delos Experience, and the Aegean Sea Sail. Part 1. We chose this tour because I wanted to see the ruins of Delos AND spend the day on the Aegean Sea. BUT, do know that Delos itself does NOT have any guided tours included in the 20EU, only a video-audio app accessible with the QR code at the entrance. And as a US citizen without a data plan, I could not access it. There are VERY FEW info signs on the massive property, and we only received a map of 100+ locations to see… no detail other than the item name, and the map numbers did not match up with the audio. So basically, 2 hours walking through a LOT of knee-high stones without any explanation about them. Overwhelming, really. We made our way to the museum in the back (must go to see the OFFICIAL lions) and it was very well-done and enjoyable. All original artifacts with info inside. :) So if you go, either read about it ahead of time, take a headset and great data plan OR choose another excursion that includes an island guide. Oh. And take an umbrella for shade. (To be clear, we knew a Delos tour was NOT the responsibility of this crew.) Part 2. The amazing 5-star CREW picked us up at the Old Port and the sail was really nice! A roomy cabin with bar and sailboat deck… salty, clear and cool water, beautiful rocky views and a relaxing day on the sea. After Delos, we anchored near the rocky shores of Rhenia for about 3 hours of relaxation time with sunshine and a fresh watermelon snack. As for swimming? Just jump in, because the water is quite “fresh”. Brrrr! Crystal clear, salty, but very few fish to see when snorkeling. And careful, the stones are quite slick when trying to make shore. The crew served assorted non-alcohol drinks, Greek beer and red + white wine (not Napa valley, for sure! ha) but do give it a try. However, the BEST surprise of the day was the absolutely fabulous, fresh-cooked, buffet lunch! (Sadly, I took no photo of my plate.) Lamb/beef kebabs, chicken skewers, yellow rice, a massive greek salad with marinated onions, tomatoes and a big block of greek feta with EVOO on the side. An array of grilled eggplant, carrots, and zucchini, all drizzled with balsamic glaze. Grilled bread, too! Just so, so good, I had 2 plates!! Take a book, chat with new friends or just sleep on the rocking sea. Each of the crew was quite accommodating, friendly, knowledgable and detail-oriented hosts. We sailed back to shore, and hopped a tender to the ship. Highly recommend.
The first 10-15 minutes was a little windy but overall not bad for a 15-20 knot wind. We definitely had nowhere near enough time on Delos (90 minute stop). I downloaded an audio tour for $3.99 and shared the tour with my husband. Delos Island Audio tour (Streetmodo LLC) was a good option but we had trouble following the path we needed to follow). BUY TICKETS AHEAD for the site so you don’t waste time standing in lines as the cruise ships arrive. The food was DELICIOUS! Timing for snorkeling, swimming, and lunch was sufficient. Everyone was very attentive and helpful while onboard! They couldn’t do enough for you. Keep in mind that you meet the tour away from the old port and new port. Quite a distance from the popular tourist heavy area.
Great combination of history and relaxation on the water! We booked a car pickup from our cruise ship for 11 people, and the drivers were great. The boat crew was wonderful and accommodating. We booked the optional Delos tour - it was nice, but a little dry. The adults enjoyed it, but not the kids. We all really loved the swimming, snorkeling, and lunch. Lunch was amazing - really delicious!
For us, the magic was in the water — swimming, diving, and leaping off the boat. Some in the group were drawn to the Delos ruins, but we were happiest staying in the sea.
Very personal, beautiful weather and swimming and a kind staff
