Excellent contrast tour in New York. We took a private tour and the experience was extraordinary. Our guide, José Luis, was very professional and knowledgeable about the history and life in the city. We visited Harlem, Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn, all perfectly organized, with punctuality and top quality vehicles. We highly recommend Real’s Tours NYC for its professionalism and excellent service.
Marco is a lovely and helpful person. He showed us the most special areas of each neighborhood, explained his knowledge and experiences at each of the stops and his conversation is very pleasant. We also had the private transfer from the airport to and from and always contacted us in the previous days and was very aware of us. Experience highly recommended.
I am born and raised in the Bronx. I accompanied my cousins from Spain on this tour and the guide was very kind. I was offended and “shocked” with the things he was sharing about the Bronx and Williamsburg. Let's first start with 1. Fort Apache - where he took us was the 42nd precinct where they made the movie - the guide said it WAS Fort Apache - Fort Apache was the 41st precinct on Simpson Street. 2. It took us around the projects where I grew up as a young girl - East 163rd Street - in the early 60's to be able to live there you had to have a job or be a veteran. It was offensive not to say that - now it will be as he says - my parents were hard workers and they sent me and my sisters to private schools. We moved from there to the Southeast Bronx just like Jennifer Lopez, not the South Bronx like the guide said. 3. He told our group that the white plaques that are stuck in front of the buildings “OPERATION CLEAN HALLS” was a sign that a person was killed in that building and the tourists in a group began to count how many dead there were on the Avenue Wheeler. I didn't correct him so as not to embarrass him. 4. The Big Pun story was also false. 5. The gangs he was referring to were created in NY prisons and others came from South and Central America - NOT IN THE BRONX! 6. He took us through Whitestone and he said that Celia Cruz was buried with her husband in St.Raymond's Cemetery when she is currently buried in Woodlawn Cemetery that we didn't even pass. 7. Williamsburg never once mentioned that the Puerto Ricans arrived before the Hasidic! I talk about them like they're the ones who built Williamsburg. Completely offended! Because I have education, I don't stop him from saying false things, especially about the Bronx! If you don't know something, don't say slander, it does offend! Because I don't take the group to nice places in the Bronx like Country Club, Riverdale, etc. I was really upset and had to correct what he said to my cousins.
