Se encuentra ubicado en el exclusivo barrio de la Recoleta, que debe su nombre a que allí se hallaba el convento de los monjes recoletos, al que también pertenecía la vecina Basílica Nuestra Señora del Pilar (en la antigua huerta de los monjes se construyó el cementerio). Es el más visitado de la ciudad, por sus numerosos e imponentes mausoleos y bóvedas, pertenecientes a muchos de los principales protagonistas de la historia argentina, como el de Eva Perón (Evita), una de las tumbas más concurridas. Asimismo, merece una visita por su valor arquitectónico, ya que es una muestra de los tiempos en que el país era una potencia económica emergente y las principales familias de la ciudad competían por construir panteones esplendorosos. Muchas de las bóvedas y mausoleos son obra de importantes arquitectos y están adornados con mármoles y esculturas; más de 90 bóvedas han sido declaradas Monumento Histórico Nacional.
El Ateneo Grand Splendid fue elegida por el diario británico The Guardian como la segunda librería más importante del mundo. Eregida sobre el antiguo cine teatro Grand Splendid en el Barrio de Recoleta, conserva su antiguo esplendor y elegancia, con la cúpula decorada con frescos, las barandas originales y la decoración intacta. En el antiguo escenario –con el telón de terciopelo entreabierto– funciona un bar que invita a sentarse libro en mano. También se pueden aprovechar los sillones que están a ambos lados de la sala principal o bien ubicarse en los exclusivos palcos que funcionan como pequeñas salas de lectura. En el subsuelo funciona un sector dedicado a los libros infantiles, y el piso superior está dedicado a muestras y exposiciones.
Esta imponente escultura de 20 metros de alto que domina la plaza Naciones Unidas fue donada a la Ciudad de Buenos Aires por su autor, el arquitecto argentino Eduardo Catalano. Está realizada en acero inoxidable y aluminio y pesa 18 toneladas. Es la primera escultura en movimiento controlada por un sistema hidráulico y células fotoeléctricas. La obra se inauguró el 13 de abril de 2002. Su nombre, "Floralis Genérica", es un homenaje a todas las flores. Se trata de la proyección de un sueño de su creador, el de construir una estructura en gran escala que refleje el dinamismo de nuestro tiempo.
Dentro del Parque 3 de Febrero, en Palermo, se encuentra el Rosedal, con una colección de más de 18.000 rosas y un lago que lo rodea. Ocupa un espacio que le perteneció a la quinta de Juan Manuel de Rosas, hasta que fue derrotado el 3 de febrero de 1852 en la batalla de Caseros. Comenzó la obra con el paisajista Carlos Thays, el mismo que construyó el Jardín Botánico, el Parque Avellaneda y el Parque Lezama, entre otros. Luego, lo terminó su discípulo Benito Carrasco en 1914. Todos los meses de julio cuando empieza la época de la poda, los vecinos y turistas se acercan a los jardineros para recibir flores o los esquejes a partir de los cuales se pueden reproducir nuevas especies. De esta manera, en invierno los rosales florecen sanos y fuertes para alcanzar el máximo punto de desarrollo en octubre.
Rodeado por los Bosques de Palermo, el Jardín Japonés es un rincón de Buenos Aires que enamora a quien lo visite. Construido en 1967 en ocasión de la visita del emperador de Japón Akihito y su esposa Michiko, se trata del jardín de estilo japonés más grande fuera del país nipón. Caminar entornado por bonsais, azaleas, kokedamas, orquídeas y faroles de cemento es un placer inolvidable
Caminito es la calle peatonal más famosa de Buenos Aires. Es uno de los atractivos turísticos más populares de la ciudad debido sus casas coloridas y su profundo significado histórico y cultural. Caminito se encuentra ubicado en el popular barrio La Boca, en la costa del Río Riachuelo y a sólo 400 mts de La Bombonera, el estadio de Boca Juniors. Se trata de un paseo peatonal en forma de curva de 150 metros de longitud donde pueden apreciarse importantes obras artísticas.
Es un gran mercado bajo techo que se encuentra en el barrio de San Telmo. Aunque conserva antiguos comercios de venta de verduras y carnes, en la actualidad es un lugar turístico y abundan los anticuarios. Los antiguos puestos "del barrio" que se conservan desde hace varias décadas conviven con los anticuarios, más recientes y relacionados como el boom turístico de San Telmo. También el edificio incluye algunos locales que tienen entrada propia desde la calle, entre ellos verdulerías, licorerías, un restaurante y dos bares notables: “San Pedro Telmo”, y “La Coruña”.1
Es un palacio ubicado frente a la Plaza de Mayo que funciona como sede del Gobierno Nacional. Este imponente edificio de color rosado ocupa el predio donde se erigió en 1580 el Fuerte de Buenos Aires. Fue la residencia de virreyes españoles y luego albergó, con algunas reformas, a las autoridades de los sucesivos gobiernos patrios. El actual edificio es el producto de la fusión de dos construcciones anteriores: la sede presidencial y el Palacio de Correos (en la esquina de Hipólito Yrigoyen y Balcarce).
Inspirada en la Gran Vía de Madrid, la Avenida de Mayo es una de las arterias más grandes e importantes de Buenos Aires. Recorre la ciudad desde Plaza de Mayo con la Casa Rosada en un extremo, hasta el edificio del Congreso Nacional en el otro. Inaugurada oficialmente en 1894, vale la pena transitarla, ya que es como hacer un viaje a lo largo de toda la historia de la ciudad.

It was a pleasant tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He spoke good English and even took us to a leather good store which was unplanned. The tour lasted a little over 5 hours and we started earlier than schedule. We enjoyed experience and privacy of tour with more of a personalized experience.

We were only in Buenos Aires for a couple of days before a cruise, and wanted to maximize our time. After reviewing the awesome reviews and great pricing options for Depasseios tours, we opted to book the Discover Buenos Aires on a Private Full Day Tour with Guide through Viator. An hour or so before the tour, we received notification from the tour guide, Dario. We hit the 'tour guide' jackpot with Dario! He was cool, funny, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about a variety of subjects regarding Buenos Aires (e.g., Flowers, trees, history, food, etc.). Dario was eager and energetic to show us his city! If we ever visit again or receive tour recommendation inquiries about Buenos Aires, we will not hesitate to refer others to Depasseios tours (with the request for Dario as the tour guide!)! Dario picked us up at our hotel around 8:00am. Stop 1: Floralis Generica Arrived around 8:25am. Dario provided information about the sculpture/area and assisted us with taking some cool photos. Since we arrived early, we were able to avoid crowds. Left Stop 1 around 8:45am. Stop 2: El Rosedal Garden Arrived around 9:05am. Dario provided knowledge about the garden. We thoroughly enjoyed taking a leisurely walk around the area and taking time to literally "smell the roses." Left Stop 2 around 10:20am. Stop 3: Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar (Our Lady of Pillar Basilica) Note: We opted out of visiting Recoleta Cemetery (was able to get a glimpse of the cemetery from the car on the way to Stop 3). Arrived around 10:45am. Walked around the church and snapped a few photos. Note: If you have limited time, would research the Our Lady of Pillar Basilica prior to the tour to determine if you want to visit or bypass the stop. Left Stop 3 around 11:05am. Stop 4: El Ateneo Grand Splendid Arrived around 11:10am. El Ateneo was a cool stop (theatre that was converted into a huge bookstore). In addition to the books and music (options are in what appears to be the basement) for purchase, there is a Havanna Cafe (a chain throughout the city) and the Grand Splendid Experience (3rd floor, optional activity where admission fee is required). You can go to an upper level to take photos and/or browse through more books. We opted out of purchasing food from Havanna, and instead went to the convenience store beside the bookstore to get water and snacks. A blind man with an amazing voice was singing outside of the bookstore. If we did not have other stops on the tour, would have gladly stayed there and listened to him perform. Left Stop 4 around 11:55am. Stop 5: Casa Rosada (Pink House)/Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral Arrived around 12:15pm. We walked around the plaza and snapped photos. Walked over to the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral (only took a few minutes). We walked through the church and saw the (guarded) marble mausoleum of General José de San Martín. Left Stop 5 around 1:10pm (attempted to see the changing of the guards at 1:00pm, but there was a delay, so we left). Stop 6: Puerto Madero (quick photo stop) Arrived around 1:20pm. Took photos of the area and took in the sights. Left Stop 6 around 1:25pm. Stop 7: San Telmo Area/Parrilla La Brigada (last stop) Arrived around 1:45pm, which is when the tour ended. Earlier in the tour, we opted out of visiting Caminito (because we went the day before the tour). However, after eating at the recommended La Brigada restaurant, we wished that we'd revisited Caminito so that we could have eaten lunch at El Gran Paraíso (again). Our experience at La Brigada was underwhelming. While it may have been an isolated incident, the food quality and service didn’t match our expectations (e.g., Overcooked meat and neglectful waiter). Prior to dining at La Brigada, do your research on the restaurant and other dining options in the San Telmo area (e.g., At the market). Note: - All of the sites we visited were free and did not require admission fees. - For groups larger than 4, confirm vehicle capacity with the tour operator to ensure comfort. - Inquire if booking directly with the operator saves money. - Use the Depasseios itinerary as a guide and customize stops to fit your interests. If you have a tour guide as awesome as Dario, regardless of which sites are selected, you will be in for a treat as you explore Buenos Aires!

We were picked up from hotel and started our tour. The guide was very informative and drove well around the city showing us all the main sites. Just a note that the guide did not stick to the confirmed tour. So check before you start where you are visiting. One place was not visited. Felt like the guide was in a hurry. I had to remind her of where we were to visit at the end That said was good to see the city driven well.
