Our family had an absolutely incredible experience with InRome Cooking during our vacation in Rome! The class began with a visit to a local farmers market, where our sweet, funny, and exceptionally talented chef, Michaela, introduced us to fresh, seasonal ingredients and shared her passion for authentic Italian cooking. Back in the kitchen, she taught us how to make a delicious pomodoro sauce with fresh handmade pasta, as well as homemade gelato and a refreshing homemade sorbet. Every step was hands-on, easy to follow, and filled with helpful tips that we’ll definitely use back home. What made the experience truly special was Michaela herself. She has an amazing sense of humor, is an incredibly gifted chef, and made us feel like we were guests in her own home rather than students in a cooking class. She created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made the entire experience unforgettable. We learned so much in just a few hours and can’t wait to bring a little taste of Rome back to the U.S. by making our own authentic Italian Sunday dinners. If you’re visiting Rome and looking for a memorable, fun, and delicious experience, we can’t recommend InRome Cooking highly enough. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
Significant other and I went shopping and did a cooking class with Giulio. We made pasta from scratch, Saltimbocca, tiramisu and carbonara. We had an absolute blast. Giulio was a fabulous teacher and very detailed and patient with us. I'd highly recommend this class. Ask for Giulio! BTW, everything we made was SOOOO good!
Thank you for leaving this lovely review! We are so glad you had a great time making your own pasta from ingredients chosen by you! Thank you againfor sharing your experience! it means the world to us!
If you are considering this tour—especially if you have kids who are cooking curious just do it. It’s worth every penny! We had a farmer’s market cooking class with Chef Max who was exceptional. Chef Max was engaging with our whole family and literally planned a menu for us, on the spot, to match our dietary restrictions, our kids likes and dislikes and what was in season and available at the market. It was masterful and so much fun. Once we got to the kitchen, Chef Max helped us prepare a four course meal that was easily one of the best we’ve had—but all simple and homey enough that we can recreate it at home. The time flew by with lots of laughs and Max and the other staff member taught us to do everything but also kept the cooking moving. And then we ate and drank and it was glorious. My kids said it was the best food of their life. Strongly recommend this class and Chef Max who is a star!
The market tour and tastings included outstanding local produce, cheeses, and meats. Max was flexible about adding in Agretti or Monk's Beard to our menu. It is a wildly delicious and nutritious veggie that was new to us for a side dish. When we took the ingredients to his cooking school, it was also helpful to have him demonstrate how to prepare freshly harvested spring artichokes to add to our homemade ricotta ravioli. Max’s pasta making tips were excellent and our pasta was tender but held its structure. Tiramisu is a staple dessert in many Italian restaurants but I believe Max’s version is far superior. Every dish was very delicious! All in all, Max was a fun, knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic instructor. I know I’d enjoy taking more classes with him in the future.
Chef Alessandro was the perfect farmer market tour guide, educational chef and all around great guy! He made the morning and lunch - fun, enjoyable and best yet - memorable. He will inspire you to re-create the meals at home! I cant thanks him enough!
Great experience. Lots of Italian cooking and interaction with the chef, ending with a decent Italian meal.
This exceeded my expectations! Max and his staff were amazing. There really are no words to describe the beautiful day that we had here. The best!!!!! Magical and delicious
One of the greatest experiences. Max was incredible and the food was impeccable!!! So thoughtful, patient and a must in Rome!!
The food is so so good. It's amazing going to the market and watching the interactions between Massimo and the local farmers. We learned a lot of great cooking techniques and had so much fun!
The Farmers Market Cooking Class led by Max was an incredible experience and the highlight of my trip. After walking around the market, meeting some of the vendors and choosing seasonally appropriate ingredients, the afternoon was spent thoughtfully crafting a beautiful meal. Plus Max and his team were welcoming, joyful and full of laughter which made me feel as though I was cooking with friends. This class is a must for anyone who loves creating memories in the kitchen.
