En el siglo XIX, la plaza dedicada al conde de Cavour Camillo Benso no existía, en su lugar, había un puerto ahora enterrado. Al principio, la plaza se caracterizaba por boutiques y arcadas, los edificios que podemos ver hoy se construyeron a lo largo de los años. En muy poco tiempo, Piazza Cavour se convirtió en un verdadero "salón de la ciudad". A finales de 1800, en el centro de la plaza se construyó una fuente y luego se instaló en el Bronx Park de Nueva York. A principios del siglo XX, se colocaron tres parterres de flores (todavía presentes) a los lados de la plaza. Las vías del tranvía fueron construidas y luego reemplazadas por una carretera. Alrededor de la década de 1950 se utilizó como aparcamiento. A finales de los noventa, diez chorros de agua instalados dentro del macizo de flores del norte constituyeron la última contribución arquitectónica al lugar. La plaza puede inundarse debido a su construcción en el lago.
El Teatro Sociale, teatro en Como, diseñado por el arquitecto Giuseppe Cusi, fue construido en 1811 utilizando la estructura existente de un antiguo castillo (podemos ver las paredes originales incluso hoy). El primer espectáculo tuvo lugar en 1813 y hoy en día puedes disfrutar de representaciones teatrales, pero también es un buen lugar para organizar ceremonias, bodas, eventos de negocios.
La catedral, ubicada cerca del Lago di Como, es uno de los edificios más importantes de la región. Se ha construido durante diferentes períodos históricos, por lo que podemos encontrar estilo gótico, renacentista y barroco. Dentro de la catedral, podemos encontrar el sarcófago de los obispos Avvocati y Bonifacio da Modena.
La Basílica de San Fedele en Como se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad y está dedicada a San Fidelis mártir. Deriva de una iglesia cristiana anterior, que data del siglo VII, dedicada a Eufemia.
Porta Torre (también conocida como Torre di Porta Vittoria) es una torre fortificada principal ubicada en la ciudad de Como, en Lombardía (norte de Italia). Tiene 40 metros de altura y fue construida en 1192 para defender la entrada principal de la ciudad.

Very friendly and Good historical knowledge Tour was a bit shorter than expected, it may have been due to the extreme hot weather

Disgusting the tour guide operator didn’t turn up! Ruined our whole Como experience! Still waiting for a company representative to contact me! The number they provide is not in service!!!!!!
We are sorry that you were disappointed with your experience. However, we must clarify that our guide was at the meeting point at the scheduled time. We personally attempted to contact you several times using the phone number provided in the booking, and our guide did the same. Unfortunately, none of the calls were answered, and we never received a callback. We can provide screenshots of the outgoing calls as evidence. We always do our best to reach guests who are not present at the meeting point, and in this case multiple attempts were made to contact you without success. For this reason, we respectfully disagree with the statement that nobody showed up or tried to contact you.
This was a fun walking tour! Our guide knew so much about Como - there is so much more history here than we originally thought! Definitely worth the time and money for the tour, we learned so much and our guide had great recommendations for restaurants as well.
