The tour far exceeded any expectations I had. Kallo was excellent as our tour leader, listening to every person’s individual reasons for coning on the tour and doing his utmost to make our day truly memorable, individually and as a group. We were provided some unique perspectives through a wonderful blend of expected and unexpected moments. If you’re in Tallinn and do one tour beyond the confines of the old town, do this one!!
Kullo our guide went above and beyond to make our experience unique. He asked us all why we chose this tour. He listened to us all and then made sure each person had the experience they were after. Culture, History, Nature, shared Stories of his family history. We walked in tunnels, climbed in a Russian Cargo plane, Waterfalls, nature walk, Coastal cliff, saw photos of the sea ice last winter, great choice for lunch, a lovely Cafe, language history lessons, a Russian Orthodox Church, quaint houses on small tracks for roads and the Prison Quarry. An Estonia drink and Russian Chocolates from a Butcher Shop. What a day! Thank you Kullo for showing us so much. It definitely was a unique day!
This was a fantastic tour! Kullo was the best guide anyone could ask for. He was so knowledgeable, hilarious and very accommodating. He wasn’t afraid to go off the beaten path to show us unique sites with interesting stories to go along. It was a full day but the time just flew by. I would highly recommend this tour and if you get Kullo you will have a phenomenal experience.
We had an amazing day with Kollu! At the start of the day he asked us what we were interested in and he emphasized that he was planning to make the day unexpected and unique. He certainly did that and much more! We loved all of the local stops and stories he shared to illustrate Estonia’s 20th century history. He was super receptive to our live feedback and expanded on things when we asked. We really loved our day it was so unique and we learned so much!
Excellent day, Kullo shared his knowledge and a nice touch was the use of the IPad to show visuals of the geography in particular. A well paced day with a good lunch stopover (not included) that was a delicious recommendation.
Had an amazing tour with Kullo and Helen. It was a very unique experience as I got to see things I'd never get to see anywhere like soviet era military bunkers, former limestone quarry and an actual soviet era military transport plane and you get to go inside as well. They also took us to a few other places which were not in the itinerary but were beautiful.
Although I was booked on the Quarry trip, unfortunately Viator had to cancel as I was travelling alone and nobody else had booked on :( they recommended I join the Lahemaa trip and I’m so glad they did. Honestly a wonderful way of seeing Estonias gorgeous countryside. Special mention to Astra who went above and beyond to make my trip perfect and memorable. She was warm, welcoming and really easy to talk to. I was with a family of four other people on the trip and Astra was really sweet to sit with me at lunch and talk. The tour itself is exceptional, but the kindness of Astra alone deserves a mention. She even dropped me back at my hotel in the van. This alone made the day even better for me as it meant I could get ready at my hotel quicker and enjoy a lovely meal on my final night. Thank you to everyone at Viator and Astra for doing this for me as a solo traveller :)
Interesting and beautiful, the tour is both historical and scenic. We would highly recommend taking a day out of the city for this tour. Kullo was our guide for the day and his knowledge and enthusiasm for the culture, nature and history made a great experience for us.
Our tour started at 10am. The meeting point was at the Tallinn Tourist info center. There we met our tour guide Kert, and our fellow travelers. The small group style tour is the way to go. Our guide Kert was wonderful. Knowledgeable, personable, and a joy to visit with. And a very good driver. At all of our stops he was quite helpful. Never did we feel neglected. Our lunch stop in Paldiski was great. We had a fun time. We saw a lot, and learned a lot. The day went by quickly. Thanks Kert for the great day.
I really liked the landscapes and the cafeteria where we had lunch. The guide was always very kind and empathetic. We also had a wonderful sunny day.
