Our Best Day In Italy!!

The BEST thing we did in Rome! 🍝🇮🇹 If you want an authentic Roman experience, "Cooking with Mamma" is an absolute MUST! Miss Debora, her wonderful Nonna Alexis, and their adorable dog, Rolly, were the most incredible hosts. Debora is a total gem—hilarious, warm, a master chef, and an amazing historian and story teller who makes everyone in the family feel right at home. Learning to craft fresh pasta and sauces in her home felt less like a class and more like sharing a meal with old friends (and trust us, after putting in all that hard work, you'll learn quickly that you are not eating "noodles" from the Olive Garden!). Between the incredible food, the warm friendship, and the family fun, it was awesome to get a glimpse into life in Rome with a true Roman! It is amazing fun and make sure you bring your appetite and your dancing shoes! Debora was easily the highlight of our stay in Rome, and we’d visit her again in a heartbeat.

Best. Night. Ever!

Cannot say enough nice things about this experience. I’ve been to Rome three times and this was my favorite activity I’ve ever done. From the beginning, the hosts are so kind and knowledgeable. Mauricio is friendly, hilarious, and so passionate about cooking. Debora is so sweet and shared some lovely stories about her family. It was super intimate and personal, and the food was amazing. You really are cooking every step of the way. Just book it, you really won’t regret it!

Wonderful, family friendly cooking class in Rome

I took this class in Rome with my two kids (9 and 11) in March 2026. It was one of our top experiences on our trip to Italy. The engagement with the kids was great and they were able to be really hands on throughout. The preparation of the dough was split with one person preparing an egg based dough and the other a water based dough. The doughs were then split so that each person had the chance to shape each type of pasta. We made cavatelli with a 4 cheese sauce and tonnarelli with Al'Amatriciana sauce as well as tiramisu. Not only was the process of making the pasta fun, it was also delicious! In addition, I am celiac and they were able to provide a gluten free option and clean work space for me. They were up front that they cannot guarantee no cross contamination but the flour and workspace were kept very separate (e.g. flours in separate bowls covered in plastic). The location is across the river from most of the other things we were doing and it also allowed us a chance to venture into a less touristy part of the city which was very nice!
