In addition to a perfect setting in the Twinings store, this was a real master class from Catriona the host.

Amazing experience with Catriona

A great experience

Our instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. She presented the history of tea making at a good pace, allowing time for questions. The class was great fun and I felt I left with a much greater appreciation for tea and the history surrounding it. I was very impressed with the experience. When this class was finished, I was able to get instruction on making matcha.

Employed all our senses!

The tasting started with an educational component which contained mostly history that was on display at the store. Since we had already read these, it was a bit redundant; however, the brand ambassador added more details. The tasting itself was incredibly delicious and a learning experience like no other! Not only did we taste the tea, but the wet leaves themselves. The ambassador applied our five senses to the experience and in rating the quality of the tea. Yes, even our hearing sense when breaking the dry leaf! You get a discount on all purchases when you purchase the tasting. My only disappointment was not being able to keep the Twinings cup; however you can take the pamphlet with your notes and brewing tips. Our team enjoyed it and thought it was totally worth it!

Tea Masterclass was really great!

We had a wonderful time! Our Instructor from New Zealand (Gordy?) was phenomenal. He knew a huge amount about tea and was enthusiastic about teaching all of us. He loved answering g questions and was great at giving us tips and tricks. I would highly recommend. Great setting and just the right length.

Interesting from a historical perspective.

It was interesting to learn the history of tea, and Britain's importation of it, and the importance of tea in in colonial GB. Alessandra, the instructor/guide was wonderful, and has a real appreciation for tea. I found the information about how each tea was cultivated and prepared to be too detailed. I think the course would be well-geared to someone who has a very distinguishing palate and who really appreciates the differences between a tea with a grassy taste, versus mossy. For me, many of the teas tasted so similar. But I am glad I went and I learned a good amount.
