The class did not occur. We tried calling on WhatsApp, knocking on the door, and ringing the doorbell with no answer. The concierge at the elevators was kind otherwise.
Hi Amber, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. Our records show that you arrived one hour earlier than the scheduled class time, and we did try to contact you afterward. We also issued a full refund and offered to reschedule the class for another day and time at no additional charge. We always want our guests to have a great experience, and we’re sorry this did not work out as planned.
Very fun! A very Welcoming lesson, and great way to start my trip in Brazil! No prior dance experience needed and tailored to all levels.

Class was good and we learned some steps, but even with moving to a bigger space was too crowded and couldn't really see the dance instructor. Was about a 45 min class and we did it barefoot
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry about this 🙏 End of December can be a bit tricky for us, and we did adjust times and spaces to manage the crowd as best as possible. We appreciate your comments and are moving to a bigger studio for the end-of-year and Carnival period, while the rest of the year our samba class in Copacabana usually runs comfortably.
I was extremely disappointed with this samba class, specifically the staff and the way they treated us. I specifically booked a private class and private transfer to Pedra do Sal for my group, and this was not honoured at all. We were left waiting over 30 mins on the side of the road with a large group, with no communication or explanation. Eventually, buses pulled up already full of random people, which was completely different from what we had agreed and paid for. No one explained why the original agreement wasn’t being honoured. Only afterwards were we told that our group was “too big for them to handle with private transfers”, something that should have been clearly communicated from the very beginning, not once we had already committed. Marco, the teacher, was genuinely lovely and the highlight of the experience. However, even the class itself wasn’t fully private as promised. Other people came in and sat watching for the last 15–20 minutes, which felt intrusive and unprofessional given what we had booked. The guides were completely unprofessional, seemed more interested in partying and hanging out with their friends than managing the group, and one guide was outright rude and raised his voice at me, which is unacceptable. Overall, the experience felt misleading and poorly managed. I would strongly advise others to be very cautious when booking, especially if you’re promised anything “private”. I would not recommend this experience.

Due to group size and the busy end-of-year period in Rio, transportation logistics required adjustments so the experience could run safely. We remain committed to authentic samba, safety, and professionalism, as reflected in our many positive reviews.

Excellent time with Marco who is very welcoming and especially very competent and he knew how to transmit the basic steps and the spirit of samba. Achieved: know how to dance samba!

Excellent fun - we all had a go at learning the samba. Macro was very encouraging and we all gave it a good go! Next trike in Rio we will return for lesson 2.
