Akemi and her husband were amazing hostess! They shared their knowledge about sushi and sashimi! Loved that they use good quality ingredients like the fresh wasabi and fishes! Kids had fun!
Great experience not learning only about how to make sushi, but also some of the back story. Very fun evening.
Awesome experience. Everyone was super nice and helpful. I would come back again.
Great experience! Learned a lot about making sushi! Would recommend to anyone!
A great night, warm and wonderful hosts. The food quality was outstanding, we learned a lot and had a fabulous time
We had the opportunity to enjoy a sushi-making experience with our family and friends, and it was truly a wonderful time. Everything was very smooth from start to finish, and the communication was both thoughtful and warm, making it easy for us to feel comfortable and connected throughout the experience. Akemi’s personality was incredibly charming, and we sincerely hope to see her again. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone.
This was truly a special, delicious, and educational sushi experience. The workshop is held at Akemi’s Sushi Kitchen in her private home. Akemi-san’s husband was also there, and he was very kind and welcoming. We began with a beautiful Japanese welcome drink, and Akemi-san explained Edomae sushi, a traditional Tokyo style, in a very clear and easy-to-understand way. Before using real fish, we first practised shaping sushi with a small handmade cloth model, which I thought was a very thoughtful idea. Then we filleted the fish, sliced it carefully, grated fresh wasabi, and finally made our own inari sushi, gunkan-maki, maki rolls, and nigiri. I was especially impressed by Akemi-san’s attention to the ingredients. You can truly feel how much care she puts into every detail. If you are looking for a small, local cooking experience in a real Japanese home and would like to learn authentic sushi-making that you can recreate at home, taught by a professionally trained sushi instructor, I sincerely recommend this experience.

Akemi and Dan are such a lovely couple, and thanks to their hospitality and friendly vibe, I felt relaxed the whole time. The ingredients were super high-quality, and I was amazed that we got to make and eat real Edomae-style sushi. I also made friends in the class, which made the experience even more fun and opened up my world a bit. If you want to experience Japan, not just visit it, I totally recommend this class.
